It looked as if Chelsea Green was going to be stripped of her WWE Women's Tag Team Championship this week on Raw, but got a new tag team partner instead - Piper Niven.
During this week's show, Green pleaded her case to Adam Pearce in an effort to remain champion even as her partner, Sonya Deville, was sidelined with a torn ACL. Green declared that she would hold auditions to find her partner. Former challengers Kayden Carter & Katana Chance interrupted and said they wanted a shot at the titles once Green found a partner. Chance was then attacked by Piper Niven.
With Chance down, Pearce and Carter tended to her and Niven faced off with Green. Niven said she was Green's new partner. Green tried to push and audition on her, but Niven took one of the title belts and demanded Green walk away with her.

Green and Deville became champions after defeating Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez in a match last month on Monday Night Raw. Deville reportedly suffered the knee injury during a Smackdown match against Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair. There is no timetable on her return to the company.
Piper Niven has been with WWE in some capacity since 2017. She appeared in the first-ever Mae Young Classic tournament and was a part of NXT UK since 2019.
Niven famously adopted the name Doudrop, while attached to Eva Marie, but dropped that name this year. Niven's only other WWE title win was a run with the 24/7 title.
