WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus has had enough of her arch-nemesis Becky Lynch.
The rivalry between Lynch and Stratus has been simmering for months. They have been engaged in a heated feud ever since the Stratus turned on 'Big Time Becks.' Trish also took Zoey Stark under her wing to cause trouble for Lynch.
Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus were originally scheduled to face each other at SummerSlam. However, the match was nixed for undisclosed reasons.
It was eventually announced that Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch would compete in a singles match two weeks after SummerSlam. The match was set for Raw which would take place in Stratus' homeland of Canada. However, no winner was decided as the pair was double counted out.
This led to WWE announcing that Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch will collide in a cage match at WWE Payback on September 2.
Speaking to Joshua Axelrod of the Post-Gazette, Trish said that it's been quite a stretch that they have been involved in a storyline. The legendary superstar believes it's time to move on and "do other things."
Stratus said she is ready to “finally put an end to all the time [Lynch has] wasted in my life. It’s a challenge. Am I a little scared of it? Yup. But that’s what drives me. ... I’m going to prove to Becky that I’m the greatest of this generation by beating the greatest of her generation. We’ve had a good little run and it’s been really fun. But it’s been a little long. I’m ready to move on, do other things and cross paths with other people.”
On this week's Raw, Becky Lynch picked up a huge win over Zoey Stark in a Falls Count Anywhere match. 'The Man' managed to overcome the odds and manage to secure the win to gain momentum ahead of Payback.
It seems that Stratus and Lynch will settle the score once and for all at the Payback Premium Live Event that will take place on Saturday, 2 September at PPG Paints Arena Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
