'The Animal' Dave Batista has added another high-profile franchise to his name by appearing in a trailer for Mortal Kombat 1.
The trailer sees Batista appear on-screen and also narrate about how only a select few are chosen to have the power of 'Mortal Kombat.' The trailer ends with Batista screaming the name of the iconic video game fighting series that was first released in arcades around the world in 1992. The trailer was shared on social media by Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon.

Mortal Kombat 1 will release on September 14, and feature John Cena's 'Peacemaker' as a playable character.
Batista's involvement with this trailer is hardly the first connection between wrestling and Mortal Kombat. In WCW, the wrestler Glacier was heavily inspired by 'Kombatant' Sub-Zero while 'The Super Giant Ninja' donned a costume reminiscent of Scorpion.
When The Miz returned from filming The Marine 3 in 2012, he did so with a character many saw as a nod to Mortal Kombat's Johnny Cage. WWE's resident A-Lister has spoken about wanting to play the role in the planned Mortal Kombat 2 film, though Cody Rhodes also has eyes on the role.
In 2012, AJ Lee donned a Kitana costume for a Monday Night Raw battle royal. For 2019's Mortal Kombat 11, Ronda Rousey voiced game series staple Sonya Blade.
