WWE fan favorite LA Knight could be seeing more opportunities in the coming months. The fast-talking Superstar is now listed as SmackDown's top 'babyface' wrestler on WWE's internal talent depth chart, according to Wrestlevotes.

Knight has been on the rise in popularity in the company after starting his main roster career as a manager for the Maximum Male Models last year. After he split from the tag team on the Sep. 30 episode of WWE: Friday Night Smackdown, he started his run as a singles talent. For the rest of 2022, Knight was still trying to connect with the WWE crowd, and it wasn't until earlier this year, during his feud with Bray Wyatt, that he started to gain popularity.

WWE fans began to catch on to the "Yeah" catchphrase and his charisma, heading into his match with Wyatt at WWE: Royal Rumble on Jan. 28. Knight has credited his feud with Wyatt for helping connect with the fans and elevate him as a talent.

In an interview with 98.5 The Sports Hub, Knight shared after Wyatt's passing on Aug. 24 what working with a former rival meant to him and his current position in the company.

"...In a lot of ways, that whole interaction and that whole story kind of helped to get me the visibility to get me where I am now," said Knight.

He added that he wished he wasn't Wyatt's last match but that he is grateful for the opportunity and that it's one of the big reasons why he's elevated to the position that he is in today. After the WWE: Royal Rumble, he continued to grow as a fan favorite and is currently the company's biggest merchandise seller, according to Wrestlenomics.
More On Knight's Status As SmackDown's Top Babyface

The report of Knight's status within the company has the potential for him to be involved in bigger storylines and more opportunities. He has been in positions where he could've won the United States Championship or the Money In The Bank briefcase but came up short. However, based on the report, WWE could decide to get him involved in a title picture or, at the very least, more TV time.

As of now, he is involved in a feud with The Miz. He defeated the former WWE Champion at WWE: Payback on Sep. 2, with John Cena as the referee. The Miz lashed out about his loss on the Sep. 4 episode of WWE: Monday Night Raw by claiming Cena was helping Knight and the victory shouldn't count.

It's possible WWE could have Knight and Cena team up together to take on The Miz and another opponent, based on how the storyline is developing. If Knight were to team with Cena, it could boost his popularity even more and elevate him more as the most popular talent in WWE.
