Johnny Gargano has returned to the ring for the first time in over a month at a recent WWE live event.
Gargano's absence from WWE programming hasn't gone unnoticed, with DIY ally Tommaso Ciampa using a missing person poster to try and locate his friend. It has been reported for some time that WWE intends for the rivals and former NXT Tag Team Champions to reunite on the main roster.
Prior to this week, Johnny Gargano's most recent match had been a July 30, WWE live event in which he lost to Omos. His most recent televised match had been part of a battle royal in May, while fans would have to go back to NXT Stand & Deliver in early April to watch his most recent televised singles match.
At last night's WWE Supershow live event in Uniondale, New York, Gargano made his long-awaited return to action. Unfortunately for the first NXT Triple Crown champion, his return saw him lose, once again to Omos.
