The return of Becky Lynch to NXT and her NXT Women's Championship win this week proved to be a hit with fans tuning in.

The September 12, 2023, episode of the gold brand saw Lynch capture the gold from Tiffany Stratton, earning The Man her first NXT Women's Championship. The victory also completes the Grand Slam for Lynch, who is a former Raw & SmackDown Women's Champion, as well as a former Women's Tag Team Champion.

According to sportstvratings.com, NXT averaged 850,000 viewers on the USA Network, up an impressive 26.3% from the previous week. This week's show was the seventh-highest audience in the history of WWE NXT, and the show's best viewership since the October 28, 2020, episode. That episode was NXT's annual Halloween Havoc match which concluded with IYO SKY (Io Shirai at the time) retaining the NXT Women's Title against Candice LeRae in a TLC match.

This week's show also succeeded in the coveted 18-49 demographic, drawing a 0.26 rating. That number is up 44.4% from the previous week, and is the highest demographic rating since the December 18, 2019, episode of NXT. That show also ended with an NXT Women's Championship change, with Rhea Ripley dethroning Shayna Baszler on the night.

Year-to-year, this week's episode of NXT was up 16.8% in overall viewers and up 73.3% in the 18-49 demographic. Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.com noted that NXT’s eight-minute overrun averaged over one million viewers. On Twitter, Becky Lynch responded to her being a proven draw for NXT.
