Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Bret 'Hitman' Hart will pen the foreword for an upcoming biography about the legendary Gorilla Monsoon.
On Twitter, Brian Solomon shared the news that Bret will be writing about Monsoon in the upcoming 'Irresistible Force' biopic. Not only was Monsoon a friend of the Hart family, but he was one of the first and loudest advocates for the Hitman when others at the time didn't see him as a main-event star. It was Monsoon who would give Hart the moniker of the 'Excellence of Execution' which is still associated with the Hitman today.
Little is known about the upcoming biography which will dive deep into a true legend of professional wrestling. In follow-up tweets, Solomon confirmed that he will be writing the book and estimated a release window between late 2024 and early 2025.
Hart's foreword won't be his first time putting pen to paper. From June 1991 until October 2004, Hart would write a weekly column for the Calgary Sun, covering a variety of wrestling topics as well as matters related to his own life.
In October 2007, Hart's autobiography Hitman: My Real Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling, was released in Canada and released in the U.S. the next year. Hart began writing his memoir in July 1999 but a series of personal tragedies, including his 2002 stroke, delayed the project.
Hart has provided multiple forewords in the past including Roddy Piper's autobiography, In the Pit with Piper, Harley Race's autobiography King of the Ring, and Dave Meltzer's book Tributes II: Remembering More of the World's Greatest Wrestlers.
