Luke Gallows has been out of action recovering from a knee scope, hence his recent absence from the ring.
Gallows, alongside Karl Anderson, returned to WWE in October of last year, after previously being released in 2020. It was later reported that the duo's new contracts would keep the former Raw Tag Team Champions around for years to come. The pair's return did not prevent the Good Brothers from making a handful of appearances for New Japan Pro Wrestling, including at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 earlier this year.
During this week's SmackDown, AJ Styles was attacked by Solo Sikoa & Jey Uso and while Karl Anderson & 'Michin' Mia Yim were concerned about the Phenomenal One, Gallows was nowhere to be seen. The previous week, Michael Cole mentioned on commentary that Gallows was dealing with an injury.

Gallows has not wrestled in over a month, with his most recent match being a six-man-tag victory with Styles & Anderson over Austin Theory, Cedric Alexander, and Shelton Benjamin at a WWE live event. Fightful Select reports that Gallows had to get his knee scoped, a procedure that would keep him out of action for six weeks. It is unclear when Gallows had his knee scoped and whether the six-week timeframe mentioned by sources was from when the knee was scoped or from when they spoke to Fightful.
