WWE announced on Wednesday that WWE Undisputed Champion, Roman Reigns, would make his official return to Smackdown on the October 13 edition of the show from Tulsa, Oklahoma. The date of Roman's next championship defense was also announced on Wednesday.

Reigns will put his championship on the line against Sami Zayn at a live event from the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City on October 14. This will be Reigns' first title defense since defeating Jey Uso in the main event of Summerslam. The T-Mobile Center announced the news on social media.

In his last title defense, Reigns defeated Jey Uso after Jey's brother Jimmy interfered in the match on Roman's behalf.

Reigns has been the champion for over three years and has defeated a who's who of challengers including John Cena, Kevin Owens, Brock Lesnar, Rey Mysterio, Matt Riddle, Sami Zayn, and many others.

Roman Reigns won't be wrestling until October 14, but The Bloodline has in-ring business to take care of at WWE Fastlane in a little over a week. On that show, Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso are scheduled to take on John Cena in a handicap match. Sikoa and Jimmy have seemingly been acting without Roman's direction on Smackdown throughout the past couple of weeks and the result is this match with Cena.

WWE Fastlane takes place on October 7. Other announced matches for the show include Seth Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a Last Man Standing Match.
