Logan Paul is gearing up for his return to the boxing ring. The influencer/businessman/WWE Superstar/podcaster will fight MMA star Dillion Danis on Saturday, October 14 live on pay-per-view from Manchester, UK.
Paul insists he's still committed to wrestling, but wants to silence the jiu-jitsu specialist with a knockout victory. He spoke with Ariel Helwani earlier this week on the The MMA Hour and spoke about the differences between boxing and pro wrestling.
He loves working being a WWE Superstar but admits boxing gives him a different 'feeling' that he can't get from sports entertainment.
"Boxing is just so much more intentionally violent, and both sports have their danger," said Paul. "Both are extremely primal. I often feel I'm born in the wrong generation. I like the idea of two men, two women, humans going at it with all they have but their body."
"'I don't know, I just feel I'm built for it. Boxing ignites a certain part of my brain that wrestling doesn't, and wrestling ignites a certain part of my brain that boxing doesn't, and I like going back and forth."
"The Maverick" added that he is the only person doing it, and he's creating his legacy by being able to have success at both.
Helwani asked Paul if WWE was okay with him competing on October 14. Although he is the favorite to win the fight against Danis, there is always concern an injury can happen or Paul may not be available to wrestle for some time after the fight.
Paul revealed that the company worked with his schedule to make it work and reaffirmed that his goal is still to be a WWE Champion one day.
"We gotta find a time in the schedule to carve out a time to box because, you know, I am, I guess, technically like a full-time wrestler. I'm on the roster. I have a contract, and it's also a goal of mine to get WWE Championships. I didn't just come to partake. I came to take over," said Paul.
He continued, "...You don't do that if you are hopping in and out of the sport, so we gotta find time to box and time to wrestle, and they've been very accommodating."
For fans worried about not seeing Paul back in WWE, he addressed that he still has big plans However, his focus is set on defeating Danis and ending their issues.
