The up-and-coming talents in the NXT Women's division are set to battle it out in the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament to earn a shot at the NXT Women's Championship.
The NXT Women's Breakout Tournament is set to begin on the October 3 episode of NXT. The brackets haven't been revealed yet but during NXT No Mercy, the eight competitors were announced.
This will mark the second year in a row that NXT would hold a Breakout tournament featuring women. In last year’s tournament, Roxanne Perez defeated Tiffany Stratton in the finals to win the tournament. Both went on to hold the NXT Women’s Championship in the following year.
During last night's NXT No Mercy, it was revealed that Jakara Jackson, Karmen Petrovic, Lola Vice, Jaida Parker, Izzi Dame, Dani Palmer, Kelani Jordan, and Arianna Grace will take part in this year’s tournament and the matches are set to commence on Tuesday night.
Jackson, Vice, Palmer, Jordan, and Grace have been featured on NXT programming in recent times. Meanwhile, Jordan wrestled on NXT No Mercy’s pre-show Saturday, losing to Blair Davenport. Jackson is currently a part of Meta-Four with Lash Legend, Noam Dar, and Oro Mensah. Notably, Izzi Dame has been active on NXT Lvl Up.
Meanwhile, Grace took part in last year’s tournament and will be making her return to TV after being out of action for nearly a year after tearing her ACL last October. She recently returned to NXT house shows earlier in September.
