'Dirty' Dominik Mysterio is now a two-time NXT North American Champion after regaining the gold on this week's episode of WWE NXT.
Mysterio first captured the title in July by ending the historic reign of former champion Wes Lee. Mysterio's title win saw a significant boost for NXT's ratings and WWE management was said to be very pleased with Mysterio and the rest of the Judgment Day.
During WWE NXT No Mercy, Mysterio lost the title to Trick Williams, giving the latter his first taste of championship gold since coming to WWE. On this week's Raw, Rhea Ripley said she had secured a rematch and threatened Mysterio that if he didn't win, he wouldn't be allowed 'home.'
Before Trick Williams made it to this week's main event, Carmelo Hayes offered to be in his friend's corner but Williams, still determined to prove himself out of Hayes' shadow, turned him down. While Hayes was willing to go it alone, Dominik had no issue with the Judgment Day showing up to help him.
While Trick survived a handful of interference attempts, it would be those at ringside who would cost him the title. After Finn Balor struck Williams with one of his Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles, Mysterio followed up with a splash giving 'Dirty Dom' the win.

This marks Mysterio's second NXT North American Championship reign. Only two other men have held the title more than once, that being Carmelo Hayes and Johnny Gargano, who is a three-time champion.
