NXT will have momentum headed into Tuesday’s head-to-head battle with AEW Dynamite.
This week's WWE NXT scored an impressive 857,000 viewers, the highest audience for the show since October 2020, three years ago. It ranked as one of the Top 10 most-watched episodes of NXT in history.
Approximately 800,000 viewers tuned in for Wednesday’s AEW, to see fallout from AEW WrestleDream and the first televised comments from Adam Copeland since his surprise debut at the PPV.
While NXT was seen by more people, the audience skewed older, and Dynamite still won the night for viewers in the P18-49 demographic, scoring a 0.28 rating to NXT's 0.22.
The show dealt with the fallout from WWE NXT No Mercy and saw 'Dirty' Dominik Mysterio regain the North American Championship from Trick Williams in the main event.
Dynamite also saw the latest developments in MJF’s feud with Jay White. The two are now confirmed to be battling in the main event of next month’s Full Gear PPV.
Due to a scheduling conflict with other TBS programming, next week's Dynamite will air on Tuesday, pitting the show head-to-head with WWE NXT. Dynamite's 'Title Tuesday' will feature a stacked show, including the in-ring debut of Adam Copeland, who will face Luchasaurus. Bryan Danielson will face Swerve Strickland for a shot at the TNT Championship, while Jon Moxley returns to the ring to face Rey Fenix for the International Championship.
Hangman Adam Page will face 'Switchblade' Jay White, Powerhouse Hobbs will take on Chris Jericho and AEW Women's World Champion Saraya will defend against Hikaru Shida.
For WWE NXT, the show will be bringing in several names from the main roster to appeal to fans. Cody Rhodes will be making a major announcement on the show while Asuka will return to the gold brand to face Roxanne Perez. John Cena will be in Carmelo Hayes' corner when he faces Bron Breakker, who will be accompanied by Paul Heyman.
