WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has added another accolade to his résumé by breaking the record as the longest reigning inaugural World Champion.

Rollins captured WWE's newest World Championship at WWE Night of Champions by defeating AJ Styles in the finals of a 12-man tournament. Rollins has since retained his championship on Premium Live Events against Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura. The title was created in response to Roman Reigns reaching 1,000 days as WWE Universal Champion, a title he continues to this day.

With his victory at WWE Fastlane over Shinsuke Nakamura, Rollins has broken the record for any inaugural World Champion in WWE. Rollins has now held the World Heavyweight Championship for 134 days. The previous record was also held by Rollins, who held the NXT Championship for 133 days before losing the title to Big E in late 2012.

Behind Rollins is Triple H's World Heavyweight Championship reign that lasted 76 days from September 2002 to Survivor Series that November. Buddy Rogers' reign as the first WWE Champion may be historic, but would only last 36 days (of which only 22 are recognized by WWE) before he lost the gold to Bruno Sammartino. Bottom of the list is Finn Balor, whose reign as the first-ever Universal Champion would end after 24 hours when Balor vacated the gold due to an injury.

With Fastlane in the rear-view mirror, Rollins will intend on defending his World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Crown Jewel on November 4, in the same country he won the title in: Saudi Arabia. Of course, Rollins' title reign could end far sooner than that, perhaps at the hands of Mr. Money in the Bank Damian Priest.
