Cody Rhodes had plenty to say when he was part of the October 10, 2023, episode of WWE NXT.
The American Nightmare was part of this week's stacked episode of WWE NXT which went head-to-head with AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday. In addition to Rhodes, NXT also saw appearances from John Cena, Paul Heyman, Asuka, and The Undertaker.
Rhodes had plenty of announcements to make when he kicked off the October 10, episode of WWE NXT. The American Nightmare started off by announcing the return of the Men's Breakout Tournament. At this time, the Women's Breakout Tournament is ongoing. Cody also revealed the return of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

The Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion then revealed that he had been appointed as the guest GM of NXT for the night by NXT Head Shawn Michaels. As Rhodes was speaking, Ilja Dragunov appeared and the pair were quickly interrupted by Dominik Mysterio & Rhea Ripley. After a back-and-forth, Rhodes announced an NXT Championship match for later in the night, with LA Knight serving as the guest referee.
While Dragunov was on-screen, the NXT Champion was confronted by Baron Corbin, who wanted a title shot of his own. Dijak would also lay claim to a shot at the champion.
Later in the show, Rhodes would book a triple-threat match for next week's NXT, pitting Corbin, Dijak, and the winner of the main event between Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes. Hayes would win in the main event, adding himself to next week's number-one contenders match.
