After letting their WWE contracts expire, Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) are back on the independent wrestling scene. The former WWE NXT UK Tag Team Champions became free agents officially on October 14.
On Twitter, Drake released a video of himself and Gibson announcing that they are back to competing as independent wrestlers and looking to make their presence felt. Gibson also noted that they didn't need any spooky lighting or no contact lenses, which was a jab at WWE NXT creative for when GYV was a part of The Schism faction.
It's unclear if the former NXT tag team would consider signing with another wrestling company. Based on their video, Grizzled Young Veterans seem focused on competing in Europe and being wrestlers rather than entertainers.

After announcing their free agency, they posted their booking information, new merchandise, and who they would face in their first match post-WWE. The Grizzled Young Veterans will take on The Draw (Danny Cross & Sammy D) at Over The Top Wrestling Ninth-Year Anniversary Day 2 on October 28. The event will occur at the National Stadium in Dublin, Ireland.
GYV's appearance for OTT is notable for Gibson, as he has competed for the promotion and is a former OTT Tag Team Champion with former partners Charlie Sterling and Sha Samuels. A win over The Draw could put the former NXT tag team in the hunt to become tag champions, which is currently being held by B. Cool & Danny Cross.
