Two potential Tag Team Championship designs were trialed ahead of this week's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw.
The October 16, 2023, episode saw new Tag Team Champions crowned as Finn Balor & Damian Priest regained the titles from Jey Uso & Cody Rhodes. The Oklahoma City show also saw Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER retained against 'Big' Bronson Reed while Shinsuke Nakamura bested Ricochet in a Falls Count Anywhere match.
The Judgment Day once again holds the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships and could soon be carrying new title designs. Prior to this week's Raw, WWE had two new title designs photo and video-tested during rehearsals, Cultaholic has reported.
One set of new tag titles was all-gold plates on black straps. The second design featured gold & silver plating on different color straps with one being red and one being blue.
It's been over a year since the Raw & SmackDown Tag Team Championships were unified and fans have been waiting to see new titles revealed for some time. The Street Profits said in June that they're ready for new title designs, perhaps with a purple strap. In December of last year, it was reported that WWE would be changing several championship titles, and while 2023 has seen several new designs introduced, there has yet to be new tag team gold. WWE at one point had plans for Cruiserweight Tag Team titles, but those plans never made it to TV before the demise of 205 Live.
