Could Drew McIntyre be the first major name to leave WWE in the TKO Holdings era?

McIntyre has been a much-talked-about name as it's been reported that his current contract with WWE expires in the first quarter of 2024, leaving fans to question as if he'll be re-signing with the company. Despite his status as a former WWE Champion and WrestleMania main eventer, McIntyre has yet to sign a new deal, according to Fightful Select.

As it stands right now, if he doesn't ink a new contract, McIntyre's time with the company will finish up before WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia. Another big name whose contract is set to run out in 2024 is Becky Lynch.

Throughout 2023, McIntyre hasn't been a primary focus for WWE, specifically if one were to compare it to his previous years. He became the WWE Champion in front of an empty crowd at WrestleMania 36 in 2020. He later found a resurgence to prominence when he battled Roman Reigns in his U.K. backyard at Clash At The Castle, nearly winning the championship before Solo Sikoa made his main roster debut.

However, McIntyre has just found himself back in the main event picture as he'll challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.

Prior to this past weekend, McIntyre's most memorable match in 2023 was the hard-hitting triple threat fight between he and current Intercontinental Champion Gunther at WrestleMania 39. McIntyre then was away from the company for months before returning at WWE Money In The Bank in London.
