It's become a rare occassion when WWE fans get to see , but it's become very rare in 2023 when we even see the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion wrestle.

Barring any unexpected championship title defenses, it appears "The Tribal Chief" will leave 2023 with only 11 bouts under his belt, making that less than a match a month and a 79% drop from 2022.

For modern-day pro wrestling, Reigns has been on an unprecedented title reign, being 1,170+ days as champion, which hasn't been done in over 35 years. However, 2023 puts Reigns in his own category by seldomly having title defenses and to many fans, it's become a glaring issue.

Reigns not only unified the WWE Championship with the WWE Universal Title, but him holding onto the gold for so long prompted WWE to introduced the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, a title that has solely been held by his former Shield brother in Seth Rollins.

Reigns last defended his gold earlier this month at WWE Crown Jewel as he defeated LA Knight, but before that, didn't put his championship on the line since SummerSlam against Jey Uso.

The aforementioned Knight was one name to speak up about Reigns far-and-few-between title defenses, labeling him as a "part-time champion."

Reigns is currently not scheduled to compete at one of WWE's tentpole PLEs later this month at Survivor Series, but it's more than likely he'll compete at Royal Rumble and of course, WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia.

I wonder when wrestling fans are gonna understand that a title does not have to be defended every week. At least not a world title.
Do you hear UFC fans whine because the World Champion defend his title twice in a year?

FFS! WWE actually had to make up a third world title because wrestling fans whined to much. And they still do.....
