CM Punk garnered a massive ovation with his WWE return at Survivor Series 2023, but Seth Rollins is hardly happy to see the former AEW star.
The Best in the World returned in the closing moments of the show, in his first appearance at a WWE Premium Live Event since the 2014 Royal Rumble. Punk was fired from AEW in September 2023 following a week-long investigation into his backstage altercation with Jack Perry at AEW All In.
While the WWE Universe in the Allstate Arena was giddy at Punk's return, the same can't be said for the reigning World Heavyweight Champion. On social media, fan-recorded footage has been shared of Rollins looking furious during Punk's return. At one point, the World Heavyweight Champion had to be held back by those around him. This was not shown during the Premium Live Event, leaving many to believe that this frustration at Punk is not part of a planned storyline.

In another video, the irate Rollins can be seen flipping off Punk, who did not react to the Architect during the show.

In the years since Punk's exit from WWE, the 'Best in the World' and Rollins have had a strained relationship. In January of this year, Rollins referred to Punk as a cancer, echoing the comments made by Chris Jericho following Punk's backstage brawl at AEW All Out 2022. Punk was said to still have 'major heat' with top WWE Superstars earlier this year.
