WWE United States Champion Logan Paul will put his title on the line against the winner of an eight-man tournament, it has been confirmed.
Paul captured the United States Championship at WWE Crown Jewel with a victory over Rey Mysterio, marking Paul's first taste of gold in professional wrestling. The match with Mysterio also made history as it marked the first time a U.S. Championship reign had both begun and ended outside of the United States.
Paul was on this week's SmackDown and bragged about proving all his 'haters' wrong by becoming the WWE U.S. Champion. Paul added that due to Rey Mysterio's injury, he can't give the WWE Hall of Famer a rematch for the U.S. Championship.
Instead, the Maverick announced an eight-man tournament with the winner earning a title match against him. The participants in the tournament are as follows:
Bobby Lashley
Austin Theory
Dragon Lee
Santos Escobar
Karrion Kross
Grayson Waller
Kevin Owens
A Mystery Entrant from WWE NXT
The tournament will kick off next week. At this time, no brackets have been confirmed for the upcoming tournament.

Competing for a shot at the WWE United States Championship would be quite the opportunity for any member of the NXT roster. While there's no word on who will be picked from the gold brand, it's been rumored for some time that WWE has been wanting Bron Breakker on the main roster. Breakker will compete next week at NXT Deadline in the Iron Survivor Challenge. Fellow former NXT Champion Carmelo Hates is also somebody that fans expect to be called up to the main roster in due time.
