Jey Uso and WWE have leaned hard into the 'Yeet' catchphrase since the star broke away from The Bloodline and became a singles act on Smackdown in the fall of 2024, but will abandon the phrase because of a trademark issue on the word. [WrestleVotes]

Kasey Huffman, a pro wrestler out of West Virginia, has owned the trademark to the word since 2021. Huffman owns the trademark to the phrase "Yeet" as it pertains to:

"Entertainment services, namely, providing professional wrestling exhibitions, shows, and performances by professional wrestlers and entertainers rendered live and through live and recorded broadcast media, namely, television, radio, via the internet, and commercial online services; Conducting of entertainment events in the nature of sports exhibitions, shows, and performances by professional wrestlers and entertainers rendered live and through live and recorded broadcast media, namely, television, radio, via the internet, and commercial online services; Providing online wrestling and sports interviews, news, and information in the fields of wrestling and sports for entertainment purposes rendered live and through live and recorded broadcast media, namely, television, radio, via the internet, and commercial online services"

Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, and Roman Reigns used the "Yeet" catchphrase during their time together in The Bloodline. In the summer of 2023, Jey and Jimmy broke away from the group and feuded with Roman Reigns.

The feud concluded at Summerslam where Jey Uso faced Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Championship. During that match, Jimmy cost his brother the world championship and their duo split up with Jey moving to Raw and Jimmy staying on Smackdown.

Upon moving to Monday Night Raw, Jey Uso continued using the phrase and it was featured not only during promos, but on t-shirts and other pieces of merchandise.

On this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, Jey's "Yeet" t-shirt was blurred out during a promo vignette hyping his main event match against Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. However, the shirt is still available for purchase at WWE Shop as of this writing.

Jey Uso's other moniker, "Main Event" will continue to be a part of his presentation and merchandise moving forward.
