WWE is on the road to WrestleMania, and you never know what will happen during their weekly Monday night flagship show. This week's episode of RAW included a call-out that no pro wrestling fan saw coming.
During WWE RAW this week, Samantha Irvin introduced Michael Chandler, and the UFC fighter had a lot to say. Chandler grabbed the microphone, and he called out Conor McGregor in epic fashion.
He told Notorious to get his ass back in the cage, after all Conor last fought in July 2021 losing to Dustin Poirier in a trilogy bout at UFC 264. In the loss, McGregor suffered a broken leg.
Chandler was pumped. He then ripped off his shirt and threw it in the crowd. The whole time, Michael Cole and Pat McAfee used this chance to hype how great a fight between Chandler and McGregor might be.
McGregor and Chandler served as coaches on season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter last year, leading many fans to anticipate McGregor's return to the octagon by now. The former two-division champion announced on social media on Dec. 31 that he would be facing 'Iron' at International Fight Week this year. However, White refuted the accuracy of McGregor's announcement, stating that his return date is still undetermined.
TKO Group Holdings comprises WWE and UFC under Endeavor's umbrella. This might be the first UFC story and call-out during WWE programming, but it very well might not be the last. Needless to say, this is also a sure-fire way to make sure WWE fans are aware of what is going on in the UFC.
