WWE's 'prohibited portal' opened further on this week's WWE NXT as Josh Barnett appeared in a video package for the upcoming Battleground event.
On the June 4, edition of WWE NXT, a video played hyping the upcoming NXT Underground match between Shayna Baszler and Lola Vice. Several names from the world of UFC gave their predictions for the match, another sign of the collaboration between WWE and UFC under the TKO banner. Barnett himself predicted a victory for Baszler, and expects that Vice's life will "flash before her eyes" once Shayna locks her arm in.

It's certainly notable to see Barnett appear during a WWE NXT broadcast. Earlier this year, WWE and Barnett teamed up with a deal that allowed WWE Superstars to compete at Barnett's Bloodsport X event. Baszler and Charlie Dempsey worked the show which saw the two Superstars defeat Masha Slamovich and Matt Makowsi respectively. Several WWE Superstars as well as WWE President Nick Khan were in attendance for the show.
This Sunday's event will take place at the UFC Apex, the first WWE event at the venue and another sign of WWE-UFC collaboration. The 'prohibited portal' will also see TNA Wrestling's Jordynne Grace challenge Roxanne Perez for the WWE NXT Women's Championship.
The reigning TNA Knockouts World Champion, Grace appeared on last week's NXT and defeated Stevie Turner this week. A piece of merchandise featuring Grace stepping through a portal to NXT spawned the 'prohibited portal' mantra, a non-AEW equivalent to the Forbidden Door.
