Becky Lynch's WWE contract expired on June 1, making her a free agent. Her last match was a steel cage loss to Liv Morgan on RAW, but she was originally set to finish earlier.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Lynch’s contract expired this past weekend. There are no immediate plans for her to return to wrestling. She was supposed to wrap up at WrestleMania alongside Rollins but was called back for a short program with Morgan to boost Morgan's credibility by having her win the title from Lynch rather than in a Battle Royal.
It was speculated that Lynch would take time off after her loss to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 40. However, Ripley's injury led to Lynch stepping in as the Women's World Champion.
Lynch lost her title to Morgan at WWE's King & Queen Of The Ring event in Saudi Arabia. On this week's RAW, Lynch lost a steel cage match against Morgan, with inadvertent help from Dominik Mysterio. This was her actual final WWE match under her now-expired contract.
On The Rich Eisen Show, Tony Khan addressed the possibility of bringing Becky Lynch to AEW. He explained that he avoids tampering and focuses on maintaining a classy approach. Khan emphasized his commitment to honesty and fairness in business, noting the highly competitive nature of the wrestling industry.
WWE might lose more stars if new deals aren't reached. While Damian Priest and Seth Rollins have signed new contracts, Natalya's deal is ending soon with no new agreement yet. Chad Gable's contract expires in a few weeks, and WWE wants to keep him. Ricochet, Angel Garza, and Humberto Carrillo also have contracts expiring this summer.
Endeavor is showing fans how they handle contracts, and it is much different from the way WWE used to do things. We will keep our eyes peeled for Becky Lynch's next move, whatever that might be.
