Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes made a special appearance on NXT this week, and he had a big announcement to make about Trick Williams' next challenger.
Cody Rhodes began his promo by noting the special atmosphere in NXT and saying he needed to feel the energy there as he prepares to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against AJ Styles at Clash at the Castle on Saturday.
He predicted that AJ Styles would say "I Quit" on Saturday. NXT Champion Trick Williams then made his entrance. Trick mentioned that he and Cody had similar paths, both facing significant challenges. Now, being on the "other side of the mountain," things feel different.
Trick asked Cody how he manages the transition from being the hunter to the hunted. Cody, referring to his own WWE Championship, said, "there's always another mountain to climb."

Cody then announced, with permission from NXT General Manager Ava, how Trick Williams' next challenger for the NXT Championship will be determined.
A 25-man over-the-top rope battle royal will decide the next challenger. Cody hinted that some participants might be familiar, while others could come from different locker rooms, which excited the fans, leading to a faint "TNA" chant.

Trick then asked Cody if he would join him at the cookout, and Cody agreed. They posed with their titles to close the segment.
