The federal judge overseeing the Janel Grant civil suit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis and World Wrestling Entertainment agreed to stay the suit for six months.

In Federal District Court in Connecticut on Tuesday, the judge ruled the civil suit would pause until December 11, 2024.

Federal district attorneys from the Southern District Court of New York asked Grant to pause her suit earlier this month. The US government was concerned the ongoing suit could disrupt the criminal investigation into Vince McMahon and the federal grand jury that the Wall Street Journal reported has been seated since June 2023.

The judge also dismissed several motions for arbitration filed by the defendants, asking for a hearing to have Grant’s complaint moved from the courts and to private arbitration per the non-disclosure agreement she signed when she left WWE and her relationship with McMahon ended. The NDA, its terms and questions regarding its legality and standing are also part of the Grant suit

The judge said the defendants could re-file their motions within two weeks of the case resuming in December

When asked for a statement, representatives for Grant and her legal team had no comment.
