An item of merchandise for WWE Clash At The Castle: Scotland may prove too dangerous for fans to wear this weekend in Glasgow.

The shirt in question is a soccer kit featuring the Clash At the Castle logo as well as '24' on the back to signify the year the show is taking place. Upon closer inspection, soccer fans will recognize that the shirt bears a striking resemblance to the Glasgow Rangers kit, complete with a similar logo on the chest.

On the surface, this doesn't seem like an issue as Rangers are associated with Glasgow and are the preferred team as Drew McIntyre. Unfortunately, Rangers have a bitter rivalry with fellow Scottish team Celtic FC that has led to several fans speaking out against WWE seemingly taking a side.

On Twitter, several fans trashed WWE's choice for the shirt. One went as far as to say that there are plenty of fans in Glasgow who wouldn't wear the Rangers-inspired tee even if they were paid.

Another fan suggested it's just a matter of time before somebody gets hurt due to the Rangers-Celtic rivalry.

One fan said that Triple H and others should be educated over how this shirt has spawned a backlash in Glasgow.

One fan insisted that the far older Celtics FC should receive a shirt to keep WWE balanced when it comes to Scottish soccer.

Joe Coffey of Gallus, whose shirts are inspired by Celtics FC, also shared his choice reaction to the shirt.

The issue between Rangers and Celtics has led to violence, including as recently as last month. Ahead of the two teams' first match in 22 years, police made several arrests after fans of both sides came to blows. There have been calls in the past for the wearing of these shirts to be banned in pubs on days when games are played.

Hopefully, WWE can avoid a similar incident with this weekend's event. The shirt, alongside other pieces of merchandise, will be available at the WWE Superstore in St Enoch's Center which will open on June 13.
