Drew McIntyre has taken his place in history as the first active WWE Superstar in Scottish Wrestling's Hall of Fame, mere days ahead of his match in Glasgow.

The induction ceremony was held at the Ibrox Blue Room which is located within the grounds for Glasgow Rangers FC. McIntyre was joined by fellow WWE Superstar Piper Niven as well as the World's Strongest Man Tom Stoltman. The trio were joined by club legends Mark Hateley and Lee McCulloch who were pleased to support McIntyre for his honor.

Drew McIntyre is the tenth inducted into the Scottish Wrestling Hall of Fame, joining the likes of George Kidd, Frank Cullen, Ian Campbell, and last year's inductee Rusty Blair. McIntyre is the first active wrestler to be inducted. In a statement, Glasgow's Lord Provost Jacqueline McLaren had plenty of praise for McIntyre.

“Excited and proud to welcome Drew back to Scotland and congratulate him his on his induction into The Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame. Known on the WWE circuit as the Scottish Warrior, he’s the first wrestler, in his prime, to receive this honor. It’s also a fantastic first for Scotland, to be hosting his WWE Heavyweight title bout at Clash at the Castle. I’ll definitely be cheering for Drew – hoping he lifts the title at this sensational Glasgow showdown.”

This historic honor comes ahead of McIntyre's much-anticipated match at WWE Clash At The Castle: Scotland. At the first WWE PLE to ever take place in Scotland, Drew will challenge World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest. With The Judgment Day barred from ringside and the crowd firmly on his side, many fans in the UK are hoping to see McIntyre win the 'Big One' in his home country.
