The WWE Universe has seemingly seen the last of Ricochet in a WWE ring, despite efforts within the promotion to the contrary.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Ricochet had informed WWE that he intends to leave when his contract expires in July 2024. The One and Only joined WWE in 2018 and is the only Superstar to gold the United States, Intercontinental, and NXT North American Championships.
Ironically, Ricochet's impending exit has made him one of WWE's most discussed talents among fans and those in the industry. The buzz around Ricochet has been so much that WWE had reportedly been hopeful for one more appearance to capitalize upon this hype.
Despite WWE's intentions, one more appearance isn't expected to happen, PW Insider reports. Pitches for Ricochet to make one more appearance have gone nowhere. The belief within WWE is that we’ve seen the last of Ricochet on TV and he will be exiting the company in July when his contract ends.
Short of a last-minute deal being reached, Ricochet will be a free agent in the near future but may not be one for long. AEW International Champion Will Ospreay has shared his hope that Ricochet will soon be All-Elite. The two had a series of instant classics in 2016 and 2017 before Ricochet signed with WWE.
AEW isn't the only option for Ricochet. Leon Slater, who joined TNA Wrestling last year, recently said it'd be incredible for the talented high-flyer to join the promotion. Whatever Ricochet's next move is, the wrestling world is keeping a close eye on him, even if we've seen the last of him on WWE programming.
