Joe Hendry may not have been in this week's NXT battle royal for long, but fans haven't seen the last of him in the gold brand.
The former TNA Digital Media Champion was one of 25 wrestlers in the battle royal to determine the next challenger for WWE NXT Champion Trick Williams. Hendry was also given time to cut a promo before the match in which he made clear he is on a different level to everyone else. Despite receiving one of the loudest ovations of the night, Hendry was among one of the first talents eliminated and was unhappy with his swift exit.
Hendry's time in the match may have been brief, but fans can expect to see more of him in NXT, Fightful Select reports. Officials in the gold brand were said to be "very happy" with the response he received at the show. Despite never appearing for WWE before, Hendry was certainly 'over' in the Performance Center and fans sang along to his theme.
Those in TNA Wrestling were very happy that Hendry's storyline with Kazarian continued on WWE NXT. The pair had previously met at TNA Against All Odds in a match won by Kazarian. With that said, some wishes Hendry had a more extended appearance rather than his brief opening spot.
Between this week's Battle Royal and more appearances planned for Joe Hendry, it looks like the NXT-TNA collaboration is continuing forward. This only further highlights that WWE is a different company compared to what it was during Vince McMahon's decades in charge.
