The Intercontinental Title will be on the line at the upcoming Money in the Bank event as Sami Zayn looks to withstand the onslaught of Bron Breakker.

On Raw, Breakker faced Ludwig Kaiser, one week removed from hitting the German with an incredible spear. The match ended with Kaiser getting the DQ win after Sheamus attacked his adversary, payback for Kaiser getting involved in his match a week ago.

Backstage, Breakker expressed his frustrations to Raw General Manager Adam Pearce, another person Bron has had issues with. The pair were interrupted by Sami Zayn (yet another person Bron has set his sights on.) The Intercontinental champion told the second-generation star to name the time and place. Breakker did just that, stating July 6 and the Money in the Bank event. Pearce wasted no time in making the match official.

This match will be Bron's first championship opportunity since coming to the main roster earlier this year. Zayn has held the Intercontinental Championship since WrestleMania 40 where he ended the historic 666-day reign of GUNTHER.

Breakker's insertion into a program with Zayn is interesting given how he was presented earlier in the night. For his match with Kaiser, Bron was presented as a babyface and the commentary made this very clear. This is despite him being a heel for the majority of his time on Raw, as seen in his work with Ricochet and Ilja Dragunov. Given Zayn's popularity, it's likely Breakker will be presented as a heel for their feud, making his presentation this week all the more intriguing.
