We all have our reasons we play games. However, we all have games that are considered a comfort game(s).

For me it's Final Fantasy 8. When I was 15, I lost my father suddenly. Knew he was sick but was told he had several years left. Anyway, not long after his funeral I was in Software Etc (the local game shoo in my hometown) and I found FF8. I was a huge fan (and still am) of the series so I decided to purchase the game. I was very different from the other installments and I got hooked right away.

After I left home, (like good little Bigfoot's do when it's their time to explore the World) I left my old Playstation and games at her house in my room. Sometime during the past 20 - 25 years they grew legs and walked off, so I don't know what happened to all of my old games.

Anyway, my best friend was killed earlier this year in a traffic accident. This loss really hurt and for a few days I just laid around my house not really doing much. Anyway, we have an XBox and I'm still getting used to the whole online thing goes. Anyway, I was searching the games and typed in Final Fantasy. Bam! Both VII and VIII were available for purchase. So yeah, I purchased both, but began playing 8 right away. My oldest son got intrigued with the game and like the Triple Traid Card game. The BEST mini game in Final Fantasy history hands down! Playing this game helped perk me back up. I know this installment always gets mixed reactions but it is easily one of my top 5 games of all time.

Does anyone have a comfort game or am I the only one? Haha

Sorry for your losses. :(

I have not played games for a while this year due to health issues but my comfort games was / is World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy 7 (the original mostly and new version) and Diablo 4. I can just delve into them and play by myself. Myst etc was good to.

I found that playing those games just let me go into a world and be by myself and try to forget the outside world problems.

Call of Duty games were a comfort game many years ago for me but I getting to old for them now.

When my mum passed away 10 or so years ago, I played Call of Duty for days on end to get through it. I have played COD for many, many years and at that time it was a comfort to me, speaking to people etc and leaving reality.
