Ever since talk started about who would be inducted into the 2006 WWE Hall of Fame this year, many assumed that "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes would be a lock, especially considering his return to the company. However, now it looks like Rhodes might have to wait until next year.
At some point during this past week, WWE management made the decision to not have Rhodes be involved with the Hall of Fame this year. The feeling going around was that with Bret Hart & the late Eddie Guerrero set to be honored, they wanted to hold off on Dusty until the moment where they can shine the spotlight on him and have Rhodes be a major addition to the HOF.
As for this year's class, several other names have been bounced around to join Hart & Guerrero. Some of the choices are Arn Anderson, Tony Atlas, and "Sensational" Sherri Martel. Martel, who's last appearance on WWE TV was during a segment with Kurt Angle on Smackdown before Wrestlemania 21, would be the second female inducted into the Hall of Fame behind The Fabulous Moolah if the WWE decided to pick her for this honor.
