Basically the stories that i will be sharing for the next couple of weeks are all real. My friends and I meet every month or so and share or scary stories with one another. The first story ill tell happened to me (straightedgexxx). And yes i do have a real name but ill use 'xxx' to identify myself throughout the story.
During my schooling years i moved into the theatre industry. I worked on numerous shows for my local theatre company. The majority of people there were over the 20 year old mark. So i was one of the youngest. I worked in sound and lighting. The booth i worked in was at the front of the theatre and the dressing room was right at the back. downstairs. Anyways the theatre was a very unhaunted theatre, nothing strange had never really happened there until one night when i was working.
The show begun normally, the crowd cheered and the show progressed without a hitch. During the intermission i did my regular rounds of checking all the lights while the curtains were closed. i noticed a light on the left of the stage had gone out. I told the director and he sent me on my way up the ladder to the roof to check it was plugged in properly. I did this with the same track of thought "Do it as quickly as possible xxx, you only have 5 minutes till the curtains open back up". I eventually got to the roof and inspected the switches and fuses with my 'CSI' torch in my mouth. All of a sudden a loud bang occured. Similar to that of a light bulb exploding. My stomach fell thinking that i had blown out one of the lights. Except the lights were fine, including the one that was off, it had turned back on. Without my touching any wires or cables. I disregraded this and ran back to my booth. To cue the curtains being raised. I didnt think much of the bang. Until i asked the director when he came into the booth to ask me about the light. I told him the story about the exploding light. He was directly underneath the faulty left light and never heard a bang and neither did the assistant director.
Later on during the second act. A loud rattle nosie came through my headphones. I took them off and to my surprise it wasnt the mics it was something else. It sounded as if it was coming from the dressing room. The bar men and women who were working heard the same noise. So this time i knew i wasnt alone. I got Mary to cover for me while i went out back to check if everything was ok. When i got to the dressing room Doug, Darren and Daniel where waiting around for their cue to go on. I asked them if they heard anything or if they were making the noise. They all answered 'no'. Coincidently all three actors suffered an injury after i had told them. Doug stubbed his finger (not severe), Daniel cut his arm and need stitches and Darren cut his foot.
The final part of the act called for someone to man a pully. To direct a 'boat' on the stage. The scene is foggy and calls for the stage director to spray a smoke machine onstage. Phillip was manning the 'boat' and Cathy was telling him which direction to pull it in since he was lying on his back. Phillip is a sceptic and told me with a straight face that he saw the 'sad mask/face' from the theatres 'happy and sad masks' (type 'theatre' into an image search if you dont understand what im talking about) appear in front of him. Cathy backed up this story by saying that she saw it as well.
This topped off our strange night. I have since left the theatre and moved away. but on occasions ill catch up with my old director or cast. They have all said that nothing as strange as that night has ever occured again.
