Arsenal were back to their best against Fulham while Liverpool's struggles in front of goal continued at home to Charlton.

The Gunners have looked anything but themselves this season, but Thierry Henry and co were in blistering form at Craven Cottage.

Henry and Emmanuel Adebayor put the visitors in firm control of the clash before a second from Henry and late Cesc Fabregas goal put the icing on the cake.

Arsenal moved into fifth with the win but Liverpool failed to extend their advantage over Manchester United after being held by Charlton at Anfield.

The Reds created a host of chances against Alan Curbishley's side, but Robbie Fowler and Djibril Cisse failed to find the back of the net.

Chelsea marched on at the summit of The Premiership following a controversial 2-1 win over West Brom at The Hawthorns.

Goals from Didier Drogba and Joe Cole lifted The Blues over The Baggies, but it was Drogba's antics that incensed Bryan Robson.

Robson claimed Drogba dived in order to level the playing personnel after Arjen Robben was earlier dismissed for a lunge on Jonathan Greening.

When things settled down Kanu netted a late goal for Albion but it proved too little too late for the relegation-threatened outfit.

Blackburn's UEFA Champions League hopes were dealt a massive blow when they slipped to a 3-2 defeat to Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

Mark Hughes' side superbly fought back from two-down, thanks to goals from Florent Sinama-Pongolle and Craig Bellamy before Mido settled a thrilling encounter.

Things looked good early on for Spurs with the in-form Robbie Keane blasting the home side into a comfortable lead, only for Rovers to fight back.

Sunderland are all but dead and buried after going down 2-1 at Manchester City. Kamikaze defending gifted Georgios Samaras an early brace at The City of Manchester Stadium.

Kevin Kyle pulled one back for Mick McCarthy's side, but despite a brave showing they were unable to muster an equaliser.

Portsmouth and Birmingham remain in real trouble after going down to 1-0 away defeats at Aston Villa and Middlesbrough respectively.

Milan Baros netted the winner for Villa while Mark Viduka was the match-winner for Boro at The Riverside.

Newcastle United continue to impress following a 3-1 success over Bolton Wanderers at St James' Park.

Bolton have proved a difficult side to break down over recent years, but were lambs to the slaughter in the North East.

Nolberto Solano, Alan Shearer and Shola Ameobi netted the goals for Glenn Roeder's side although Bolton did reply through Kevin Davies.

Everton left Upton Park with a point after coming from behind twice against West Ham to claim a 2-2 draw.

Marlon Harewood opened the scoring only for Leon Osman to reply for The Toffees just eight minutes later.

Dean Ashton's superb left footed drive looked like being the winner for some time before James Beattie earned a share of the spoils.
