WWE/Pride Update, Roddy Piper & Ted DiBiase, King Kong Bundy, Meet Kane, John Cena Presenting

WWE Champion John Cena will be presenting the first annual Action Sports Awards on Thursday November 30 in Los Angeles, CA.

This Wednesday November 29, you will be able to meet WWE SmackDown superstar Kane, as he will be siging copies of the See No Evil DVD at 1290 Ave. of the Americas, NE corner of 51st and 6th Ave., New York, NY. The autographs session will be from 6pm to 8pm.

Shane McMahon was the person pushing hard for WWE and Pride to make a deal because he is a big MMA fan. In the early years of UFC, there was even talk of the WWF purchasing the group and having Shane run it. As it stands it now, it is very unlikely that WWE will bother doing anything with Pride, particularly since Bob Sapp would not be able to work as a wrestler full-time.

Condolences go out to WWE referee Marty Rubalcaba, whose father passed away last week.

The Modern Era Inductees for the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame this coming year are Ted DiBiase and Roddy Piper. Click here for more information (http://www.pwhf.org/2007inductees/pressrelease.asp).

Former WrestleMania main eventer King Kong Bundy will be headlining the "All Out Mayhem" show in South Portland, ME at the Strive Center on 12/2.

Pride, or any other MMA promotion, would take a huge hit if they were to do business with the WWE. Shoot fighting companies survive on a fanbase of people who like to see two guys really beat the hell out of each other for no reason beside to prove their own superiority and If you start doing business with a fake sport, you will in turn lose your own credibility. Shootfighting does not use soap opera type storylines like wrestling and simply can not survive without credibility.
