WWE WrestleMania 22, which grossed $2.5 million at the Allstate Arena box office, was the venue's highest-grossing single-day event ever, WWE said in a press release.
According to WWE, more than 17,155 people from sixteen countries and forty three states attended the show live.
"Millions" watched the show on pay-per-view.
"Beyond any doubt, WrestleMania 22 was a big time event in every sense of the word," said Kurt Schneider, WWE's executive vice president of marketing. "The house was rockin', and the Allstate Arena was the perfect host. Our fans from around the world who attended were passionate, engaged and entertained beyond belief. I would like to thank our loyal fans in Chicago, the United States, and from around the world for making WrestleMania 22 such a tremendous success."
