Cameron Diaz
Cameron Diaz and pop producer Pharrell Williams joined former US vice president Al Gore today to announce more of the line-up for 'Live Earth' - a concert to save the planet.
Sheryl Crow, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Snoop Dogg have all added their names to appear at the Live 8-type one-day event on July 7, the group said.
Diaz and Williams pledged to help promote the party as they appeared at the California Science Center in Los Angeles.
Gore, who is up for an Academy Award for his global warming documentary An Inconvenient Truth, revealed other bands and singers for Live Earth include Corinne Bailey Rae, Duran Duran, Black Eyed Peas, Fall Out Boy, Kelly Clarkson, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw and Lenny Kravitz.
Gore said he learned that the Red Hot Chili Peppers would participate on Sunday night when he was onstage at the Grammys.
He said: "What you didn't see on TV is that when the Chili Peppers came up, they pulled me aside and said, 'We're in!'
Diaz revealed that Gore has been helping school the actress on all things environmental.
"I've been driving a environmentally-friendly Prius since they came out," Diaz said.
"I carbon neutralize when I travel and I recycle. If we can get people to change one aspect of their lives, even do one thing, that's a step closer."
Live music performances are planned to take place on every continent, including Antarctica.
Host cities include Shanghai, Sydney, Johannesburg and London.
Fellow organiser Kevin Wall - who produced the worldwide Live 8 concerts - said in all more than 100 acts expected to perform over the 24-hour period.
"We will put together 2 billion sets of eyeballs on a global basis,
and we will hand the mike to Al Gore," Wall said.
Hip-hop star Pharrell said he hoped the concerts would be an important
moment in the history of the planet.
"On 7/7, you're going to see the biggest party on Earth," Williams said.
In keeping with the green mission the organisers said concerts will be
powered by renewable energy.
