Friday's Smackdown did a very strong 3.2 fast national rating, with a 6 share. That is a great number for WWE and actually had them finish in fourth place, beating Fox. The final number will be out later in the week.

MM sent this item. ... I saw the Reno 911 Miami movie yesterday and mid-way through The Rock made a cameo. His name was officer Rick Smith if I remember correctly. He was the sole member of his SWAT team not in quarantine in The Civic Center. He was to lead the Reno team to police Miami but he blew himself up promptly with a grenade. His cameo did stir up the audience. You could hear "It's the Rock" in various parts of the theater when he appeared.

Multichannel News has an article about the proliferation of High Definition programming on TV. In it, they quoted USA boss Bonnie Hammer, who said, “Much of our content is still shot in film, but we’re experimenting with [HD] more and more. We’re even trying to shoot [World Wrestling Entertainment] in HD. That’s kind of challenging. Does a punch hit or does it just go by? You see everything in HD. You’ve got to be very careful.” That is a concern that WWE has as well, since they don't want to show blows that clearly miss their mark.
