Jim Ross, who is turning into one of the most prolific wrestling writers on the Internet, has already posted another entry to his blog. You can check it out by clicking here (http://www.jrsbarbq.com/blog/2007/03/04/glory-days-detroit-wrestling-spinner-belt-lance-russell-tony-to-be-whacked-trojan-reminder-the-brain-old-school-%e2%80%9cq%e2%80%9d-sable-nikita-koloff/).

Some highlights from this entry:

- Ross discussed the Hall Of Fame, and once again stresses that he does not have any information about who is being considered for induction and who isn't (and why).

- Concerning the "glory period" of wrestling Ross, feels for him it was either the 80's with the various territories or the "Attitude Era" of WWE.

- Regarding the series of interviews Ross conducted with Mankind (which really opened up that character to the viewing audience), he feels they "were some of the best and most effective interviews I have ever been a part of".

- Regarding Lance Russell inducting Jerry Lawler into the Hall Of Fame (which apparently was suggested at one point), Ross writes "I assume Lance Russell is not inducting The King into the 2007 HOF. Too bad, as I was looking forward to visiting with Lance who, along with his wife Audrey, are wonderful folks. Lance anchored the Memphis wrestling TV show forever and was arguably the second most popular person on the show next to the King himself. Who knows for sure who will induct Jerry as it might be Lance after all."

- Ross isn't sure when Chris Masters will reach the main event level, and suggests Masters study tapes of Paul Orndorff.

- In regards to the "Who was bigger, Austin or Hogan?" question (which we get constantly here at the site as well) Ross writes: "Who out drew who? Who had the biggest year ever for a wrestler in the WWE? We get this question a great deal. Steve Austin had by far the biggest single year ever and had several huge money making years to go along with that one. Hogan may have had more years on top as he was in a main event position longer than Austin, but no one in WWE history ever surpassed Steve’s single season earnings record. For the good of the business, I hope someone does some day."

- Ross talks about Sable being rehired in 2003, and that there were no problems with her during her last run.

- Ross also talks about MVP, The Sopranos, football, going to see Bad Company and more.

I think he should add the NWO period in there. They were one of the most ground breaking groups in wrestling history. They defined an era and pretty much made the WWE to make the Attitude Era. I mean come on WCW kicked the crap out of the WWE.

I agree Corey, no one ever gives WCW credit for anything, except bad management. The fact of the matter is that if WCW hadn't did what they did with Monday Nitro and the NWO then there wouldn't have been an attitude era and the WWE would probably still be doing the same cartoon era crap that they were doing in the early 90's.

I also agree very much with u. I hated that cartoon crap. To me that was one of the worst times for the WWE. The NWO made Vince in the WWE change there way of doing things and the WWE needs someone to do that for them again. I also believe the NWO changed wrestling to make it to what we see today. Cause before the NWO wrestling was basically the same thing some little storyline and a feud that is the way it was for everything. But the NWO was something different know one in wrestling seen anything like that to that point.

I think NWO was a major part of WCW being cancelled, so I would not calll it a glory period of wrestling. The late 80s and Attitude eras are ones that would be on my list.

If it wasn't for WCW and the NWO there would be no Attitude era. To me wrestling was dual and kinda boring and very stale until the NWO came along. I know many people that came back to watching wrestling because of the NWO. They may have had to do with apart of WCW going out of business but they for sure were not the only reason. Ted Turner stopped putting money into it and lots of the better and well known wrestlers left. Also the Goldberg experience didn't help much.
