Opening Smackdown Theme followed by usual pryo. Undertaker vs Mark Henry rematch is announced for tonight as well as Rey vs Orton for the World Title.
Non Title Match
Brian Kendrick and Paul London vs. MNM (c)
Referee: Jim Korderas
MNM’s music hits and my oh my, Melina continues to smoke as they make their way to the ring but right as Melina gets both her legs up on the mat, London and Kendrick come from behind and start carrying her off, each with a leg in hand before Mercury & Nitro come to her aid. Funny little bit.
The start:
London and Kendrick are on fire though and they double team Nitro still with his coat on and go for an early pin. Kendrick is finally pushed off and Nitro starts the beat down but Kendrick hits a head scissors and dropkick to get back in control. Kendrick hits the ropes but Melina grabs his leg to trip him up. Nitro lays the boots to him before tagging in Mercury. Mercury just reverse bearhugs him on the mat, and Kendrick punches elbows out, but Nitro runs in and tosses Kendrick out of the ring.
Mid-match notes:
Nitro then tosses him right back and Mercury gets a near fall and pounds him when he doesn’t get the pin. Nitro is tagged in and they whip Kendrick into the turnbuckle. Nitro does a really unique looking kick here while Kendrick is down. Nitro picks him up and pushes him into his corner. Kendrick fights out and as Nitro tries to push him back, Nitro rolls him up, but the ref is distracted. Nitro hits a Russian leg sweep as they get to their feet. Nitro then uses the 2nd rope to choke Kendrick and Mercury is tagged in. Near fall. Mercury goes for multiple covers before just throwing a punch at Kendrick and tagging Nitro back in. Double team elbow drop by Nitro here. Nitro mat wrestles Kendrick here doing their best to keep Kendrick from tagging. Kendrick sunset flips Nitro and tags but somehow the ref misses it.
The Finish:
Moments later though, London finally gets the tag and cleans house in up tempo fashion, really hot crowd. London gets a near fall on Mercury. Nitro cheap shots London from the outside setting up the snap shot but Kendrick interrupts giving London the advantage again. Lots of near falls in this stretch and I just couldn’t keep up the action was really, really fast, but London ends up finally getting the pin, clean. Really big pop from the crowd.
Winners: Brian Kendrick and Paul London
Backstage:
Long is shown on the phone in his office as a jubilant Booker & Sharmell walk in and Long reminds him that he lost to Boogeyman at Wrestlemania. Long asks Sharmell how the worms felt going down her throat at Wrestlemania. Booker says that nothing can take the smile off his face tonight. Booker got a restraining order against Booker T. Really funny stuff here. He “serves” Long with the order and says that Boogey can’t get within 100 feet of him and says that now, there’s no such thing as a Boogeyman.
Booker T vs. Gunner Scott
Referee: Charles Robinson
Booker’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring for action accompanied by Sharmell. Gunner Scott (a jobber) is already in the ring waiting for him.
The start:
Booker gets an armbar on Scott and Scott tosses him into the ropes but Booker shoulders Scott. Booker throws knees to his gut and then slaps on a headlock. Scott armdrags Booker down but Booker gets to his feet and throws punches at him. Booker hits a superkick and a chop as he picks up Scott. Scott blocks Booker’s punches and throws punches of his own but as Scott comes off the ropes Booker picks him up and hits a sidewalk slam.
The Finish:
The lights go out and Boogeyman’s music hits. Booker stops what he’s doing, and Gunner rolls him up for the pin. The lights come back on and Long comes out and apologizes for the miscue in Boogeyman’s music. He repeats that Gunner Scott was the winner.
Winner: Gunner Scott
Backstage:
Gunner is celebrating backstage when Benoit comes up to him and congratulates him.
Chris Benoit vs. Simon Dean
Referee: Chris Kay
Simon Dean’s music hits but before he can get all the way to the ring, Benoit’s music hits and clotheslines him off his scooter as Dean turns it around and heads up the ramp right after Benoit.
The match:
Benoit gets Dean into the ring and hits a snap suplex right away and hits a couple chops. Dean’s outfit is blinding green. Benoit hits a knee as Dean comes off the ropes but misses with an elbow and Dean pushes Benoit into the corner, punches him and bulldogs him. Dean tries to keep him down but Benoit gets to his feet. Dean hits a suplex though and gets a near fall. Dean ties him up though keeping Benoit on the mat. Benoit elbows out and hits two Germans before slapping in the crossface and Dean taps out.
Winner: Chris Benoit
The Aftermath:
Immediately, a great American promo is shown being played on the titantron which includes a clip of JBL’s face on Mount Rushmore. Pretty damn funny video promo for JBL’s Great American celebration for next week. Benoit is not impressed.
Backstage:
Orton is warming up backstage when Angle gets in his face. Orton jokes around with him saying he seems to be missing something but later tonight it will be around his waist. Angle slaps him, and just grunts and yells a couple times. I guess he’s an animal now. Angle has his mouth guard in. Does the guy ever take it out?
World Heavyweight Championship Match
Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio (c)
Referee: Jim Korderas
Orton’s music hits and Orton makes his way to the ring holding his jaw. Orton’s music is still playing. Rey’s music hits and Rey makes his usual entrance with the World Title on his shoulder. Rey holds up the belt on the ramp for the fans to see. Standing ovation for Rey, although it could be edited in Rey’s favor. Rey gets to the ring and shows off the belt from the four turnbuckles. Orton looks annoyed.
The start:
Ref does the old school checking the boots before the match. Eddie chant before the match even begins. The slowly circle each other. They tie up and Orton easily pushes Rey into the corner. Orton breaks and pushes Rey. Rey pushes back. The circle again and Rey slaps on a headlock. Rey then takes down Orton, still in the headlock. Orton fights out and head scissors Rey on the mat. Rey kicks out but Orton slaps on the headlock as they get to their feet. Orton goes into the ropes and shoulders Rey down.
Mid-match notes:
Botched spot here but Orton keeps control and works over Rey in the corner. Orton hits a nasty uppercut on Rey and gets a near fall. Orton slaps on the headlock again while both men are on the mat. Rey gets to his feet, pulls out and hits a couple chops on Orton. Rey goes into the ropes and tries to hit the bulldog but Orton reverses quite easily slamming Rey onto the mat. Headlock spot again. Rey gets to his feet, goes into the ropes, tilt-a-whirl into the 619 position but Orton ducks it, Rey is wise to it, and Orton exits the ring. Rey springboards onto Orton on the outside and tosses Orton back in. Near fall. Rey pushes Orton into the corner, climbs the turnbuckle and hits his ten plus punches. Rey climbs down and Orton slowly falls to his knees and on his face. Rey picks up Orton and Orton hits his backbreaker out of nowhere. Near fall and another headlock by Orton. Almost a choke here.
Rey gets to his feet and elbows out but Orton pulls his head back slamming him back down. Near fall, and headlock again. Rey again gets to his feet and tries for the ropes. Orton pulls him back in and hammers his chest with forearms. Rey is tossed into the ropes and Orton hits a mean looking dropkick sending Rey out of the ring. Orton cockily looks to the outside of the ring as if to wonder “Where did he go?”. Orton has Rey in yet another headlock and a body scissors on the mat. Rey struggles for the ropes and finally reaches them. Orton reluctantly breaks. Orton whips Rey into the turnbuckle, and Rey tries to headscissor Orton but Orton sees it coming and slams him down onto the mat. Near fall, followed by yet another headlock.
Rey again gets to his feet and elbows out but as Orton is whipped into the ropes, he holds onto the ropes and Rey misses a dropkick and falls flat on his back. Orton slowly climbs the ropes and goes for an elbow drop but Rey lifts his legs and catches him with a boot. Rey gets to his feet, and this time hits the bulldog off the ropes and gets a near fall. Rey springboards and hits the Senton on Orton getting another near fall. Rey is slow to get to his feet and Orton thumbs his eyes. Rey hits an inverted DDT as a counter on Orton. Rey goes to the top rope, rather slowly, Orton gets to his feet though and as Rey comes down, Orton hits a dropkick in the midsection.
The Finish:
Near fall as Rey gets his leg on the ropes. Both men are down but Orton is stalking Rey for the RKO. Rey gets to his feet, turns around and hits a spinning round kick on Orton. Both men are again down. Orton kicks Rey in the midsection, and hits a nasty clothesline on Rey. Near fall (the crowd is in the palm of their hands now). Orton whips Rey into the turnbuckle and misses a spear hurting his shoulder on the ringpost. Rey hits a 619 using the ringpost, and Orton stumbles and falls onto the 2nd rope. Rey hits another 619, followed by a legdrop off the top rope (not turnbuckle) and gets the pin.
Winner and still World Heavyweight Champion: Rey Mysterio

Palmer Cannon does a PSA saying that the views and opinions expressed on Smackdown are not necessarily the ones of the network.

Mike Mizanin vignette is shown. I’m curious to see where they’re going with this.
Backstage:
Kristal is shown interviewing Rey backstage. Rey takes a moment to thank all the people that believed in him from day one. Rey says he’ll never forget WM22 and says that tonight he proved that he’s ready to battle to keep it. He calls his wife and two kids into the frame and they have a Brady moment.
Backstage:
William Regal stumbles upon Pirate Paul backstage and says that if he starts dressing likes a normal person he’ll forget this whole thing. Burchill says he’s actually having a lot of fun, and since doing it, he’s undefeated. Burchill says he doesn’t recall Regal winning any matches recently. This sets off Regal as he tells Burchill he’ll kick his teeth down his throat. Burchill proposes a stipulation for their upcoming match. The winner chooses the others attire. Burchill tells Regal that he will make a lovely Buxom wench.
William Regal vs. Paul Burchill

William Regal’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring followed by Paul Burchill.
The match:
They tie up and Burchill armdrags Regal and tosses an endless series of punches at him. Burchill backdrops Regal. Regal comes off the ropes and they exchange uppercuts with Burchill getting the upperhand. Regal suddenly has the advantage and is just beating Burchill down on the mat. Regal slaps on a headlock and gouges at Burchills face. Regal drops a knee on his face. Regal picks him up but Burchill suplexes him immediately. Burchill hits the C-4 a moment later and gets the pin.
Winner: Paul Burchill
The Aftermath:
Regal sits up and begs Burchill not to follow through and pounds the mat in frustration.
Backstage:
Booker, Benoit, Hardy, Lashley, Finlay & Angle are shown backstage and Long tells them he’s bringing back the King of the Ring tournament and they are all in it. The tournament starts next week. The first match is Kurt Angle is…..Randy Orton. It looked like he was going to pick Finlay but he moves Finlay out of the way to reveal Orton sitting down in the locker room.
In the arena:
Mark Henry’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring. Henry cuts another boring, many a pause, promo. Henry complains about being put in a casket saying he passed out and almost passed on.
Mark Henry vs. The Undertaker
Referee: Nick Patrick
Henry is still listening to his music. Undertaker’s music hits and he makes his usual entrance.
The start:
Undertaker takes it to Henry right away unloading punches on him but Henry takes him down as Taker comes off the ropes. Henry works him over in the corner at a slightly faster pace than his promo. Taker is whipped into the opposing corner and catches Henry as he runs at him. Old School by Undertaker. Henry powers down Undertaker and again moves him to the corner. Taker is whipped into the ropes and hits his flip clothesline spot. Henry rolls out of the ring. Taker follows and slams his head into the ringsteps before rolling Henry back into the ring.
The Finish:
Undertaker drops an elbow and legdrop on Henry before Singh appears slowly walking down the entrance ramp with Daivari. Undertaker looks puzzled and they both get in the ring. Singh is wearing no shirt black boots and what looks like black track pants. As everyone knows, he’s huge. Not just tall, but thick as well. Undertaker punches Singh a couple times but Singh no sells it and just shakes his head.
Winner: No Contest
The Aftermath:
Singh then chops Undertaker down with one chop. A really green looking chop at that. Undertaker sits up but Singh grabs a hold of him by the neck and brings him to the corner. He then he slaps the turnbuckle and it bursts open. He slams Undertaker’s face into it and headbutts Taker a couple times from behind. He kicks him once while he’s down and stands over him. Cole does the speech about having never seen someone man handle Undertaker like this before. Anyway, Singh is showered in boos as he slowly makes his way up the entrance ramp. Henry was nowhere to be seen after taking the legdrop from Taker.

Singh is wearing no shirt black boots and what looks like black track pants. As everyone knows, he’s huge. Not just tall, but thick as well. Undertaker punches Singh a couple times but Singh no sells it and just shakes his head.
Winner: No Contest
The Aftermath:
Singh then chops Undertaker down with one chop. A really green looking chop at that. Undertaker sits up but Singh grabs a hold of him by the neck and brings him to the corner. He then he slaps the turnbuckle and it bursts open. He slams Undertaker’s face into it and headbutts Taker a couple times from behind. He kicks him once while he’s down and stands over him. Cole does the speech about having never seen someone man handle Undertaker like this before. Anyway, Singh is showered in boos as he slowly makes his way up the entrance ramp. Henry was nowhere to be seen after taking the legdrop from Taker.
