Two HUGE announcements concerning the War Games Main Event on April 7th. One being that due to unforeseen circumstances, Sterling James Keenan will NOT be in the match but taking his place will be none other than Cody Deaner! Deaner was able to pull out a victory over another participant in the match Colin Olsen at the last show, February Fallout, and it looks like that impressed Brodie and Hellcat enough to be chosen as SJK’s replacement. The second announcement being that the NWA Upstate World Title WILL in fact be on the line in this match! What does this mean? We're not exactly sure yet as the official rules for the Upstate Wargames have not been released yet, but we have been told we will be hearing more from Brodie Lee in the coming weeks and all questions will be answered very soon. Right now, You can watch exclusive comments from Hellcat and Brodie Lee regarding the main event at www.nwaupnycom.

All this and much more statring at 6pm with the Showcase Showdown card with Spazz, The Czar, Dewey, Evan McCloud, Derek Duncam, Sweet Lou, and many, many more!

Stay tuned to nwaupny.com for more matches to be announced in the near future!

NWS Results from Park Ridge

National Wrestling Superstars put on another spectacular event at the Park Ridge Elks Lodge on Friday night, March 23. The wrestlers seemed to have their "A" game on for the fans who went away asking "can I get tickets for tomorrow's show in Ridgefield Park" (tonight at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 106 Bergen Avenue in Ridgefield Park).

The opening bout saw the return to NWS rings of Too Cocky Kevin Matthews. Matthews, accompanied to ringside by King I Du Stinq, Saddam Insane and Prince Camel-Toe, spent nearly 5 minutes telling the crowd how wonderful he was and that he issued an open challenge to anyone to meet him in the ring. He looked over the roster of the wrestlers in the locker room and laughed. When the ring announcer finally named his opponent, The Rogue, he laughed even more, wondering who (or what) that was. When The Rogue entered the ring, he used his walking stick against not only Matthews, but the Prince, the King and Insane. When order was finally restored, The Rogue seemed on the verge of beating Matthews, but Matthew's friends distracted the referee and it quickly became a two (or three) on one match with Insane and Camel-Toe hitting a 3-D on The Rogue, then Insane followed up with a big splash allowing Matthews to score the win.

The second bout of the evening saw another in a series of matches between Mikey Pacifica and J.D. Smooth. Smooth complained that Pacifica's win over him last month was a fluke and demanded that this match be contested in an "anything goes" type of match. NWS officials denied this request which only seemed to inspire Smooth as he pummeled Pacifica. When he thought he had the match won, Pacifica mounted a come-back and chopped Smooth across his chest and back. The come-back didn't last long as Smooth retaliated with chops of his own and attacked Pacifica with high-flying moves that enabled him to score the pinfall.

The third bout of the evening started out as a 4 way dance between Gavin Quest, Nicky Oceans, Deranged and Corvis Fear. When it became obvious that Oceans and Fear (collectively known as Team Supreme) were working together, Deranged and Quest decided to work together and it became an unannounced tag team match. This was the match of the night with all four wrestlers putting on a spectacular effort that had the crowd cheering all four combatants. The four battled inside and outside the ring (including several over the top rope dives that nearly hit the fans in the first row). After nearly 14 minutes, Team Supreme had Quest set up for the win before Deranged came off the top rope and hit a neck-breaker on Oceans to allow Quest to score the win.

Before the start of the next bout, the ring announcer plugged the Ridgefield Park event for Saturday and pointed out several "guests" in the building. Referee Sean Hanson, Captain Lou Albano and TNA's Jay Lethal.

The 4th bout of the evening was another tag team match pitting champions the Sychodellic Sissies (Ace Darling and Mr. Motion Shane Taylor) against Dublin Destroyer #1 and Joe Hardway. The Sissies made their way to the ring, but were upset because the wrong music played and they are called the Studs not the Sissies. Darling and Motion grabbed Commissioner's Moore's bag of Philly Pretzel's, broke off pieces and threw them at him and said "no do it right dummy". They went back into the curtain and the correct music was played. Then they had another announcement. They were invoking their rights to defend the titles only once in 30 days and this would be a non-title match. Maybe someone should have told this to Hardway and the Destroyer as they were going all out to defeat the tag champs. Darling and Motion spent a lot of time outside the ring trying to re-group and it seemed to work as once back in the ring, they showed why they are the champions and defeated their opponents 1-2-3.

NWS presented a special girls bout with Alicia taking on Alere Little Feather with special guest referee Roxxy Cotton. This, the 5th bout of the night, saw Alicia work on Little Feather's neck for much of the match and Little Feather attacking Alicia's legs. After 7 minutes, Little Feather scored the pin, but Alicia claimed that the referee was partial and went to the Commissioner's desk to complain about incompetent officiating. The Commissioner set up a return bout for the Ridgefield Park show, making it a 3 way between Alicia, Little Feather and Roxxy. While Little Feather and Roxxy had their attention towards the commissioner, the Baghdad Bullies attacked them and Insane gave Little Feather a big splash before The Patriot made the save. King I Du Stinq laughed at The Patriot telling him that he had no partner. The Patriot said he would take on the Bullies in a handicap match, but NWS officials told him he had to find a partner. Out came The Rogue, still hurting from the opening contest and told NWS officials and The Patriot that what happened to him earlier was a travesty of justice and wanted revenge. The Patriot and The Rogue shook hands and the main event was made.

After intermission, fans were treated to an un-announced bout as Ohio Valley's Damian Adams took on Bandido, Jr. Fans at first cheered Adams until he told them "I don't need you, I'm a future superstar and will be working buildings like Madison Square Garden, the Staples Center and other big buildings around the world. I shouldn't even be here". When NWS officials showed he signed a contract last year, he was told he had to fulfill his obligations. Then when Bandido, Jr. came to the ring, he said "ok, let's make this quick". Bandido had other things in mind and attacked the "future star", and told him "stop making this about you, this is about the fans", which brought out the biggest cheer of the night from the crowd. Both wrestlers put on a great effort, but Adams used his experience and cunningness to score the win over Bandido.

The main event saw The New Baghdad Bullies (Saddam Insane and Prince Camel Toe) take on The Patriot and The Rogue. Before the match King I Du Stinq try to get a date for Insane, telling female fans he was voted Iraq's most eligible bachelor and he wanted to invite all the ladies in attendance to meet him after the show to see if they were worthy of consideration. Once the match got underway, it was totally The Patriot and Rogue who seemed bent on destroying the New Bullies. The Prince was nowhere near the size of Evil TNT (who reportedly went on a mission TNA country to find more members to add to the Bullies squad). The Patriot gave Insane a wedgie that gave everyone in the first three rows a view that they'll soon hope to forget. The end came with The Rogue hitting a neckbreaker over the Prince for the win. But the fun wasn't over yet as The Rogue and The Patriot gave the King a wedgie that had the fans totally disgusted.

On a side note, just like in baseball, sometimes players get cut from the roster and NWS officials did just that yesterday wishing former heavyweight champion Vicious Vinny and current heavyweight champion Ali, the Dark Patriot, good luck in future endeavors.

On Saturday March 24, 2007 Fighting Spirit Pro Wrestling held RUMBLE MANIA IVat their new venue, The Hall (former El Sombrero), 1330 US 301N in Palmetto, FL. The paid attendance was 152 and they saw the following matches after a 10 bell salute to the recently deceased “Golden Boy” Arnold Skaaland, “Big Cat” Ernie Ladd and Bad News Brown (Allen):

(1) FSPW Tag Team champions “Irish Destroyer” Heater & VinnDetta defeated Team Lethal (Jasin Sane & Luis Matos w/Dagon Lee).

(2) Deathrow Jethro defeated BoneZ the Cutthroat

(3) In an impromptu match, Jose Armando Alejandro Estrada defeated John Q of the Fed Up North. Jose asked Damien Christopher with the other Fed Up North roster members Mark Zout & James Morrison. However John Q said they were busy with Fed work. So Mr. Christopher did what he felt was right.

(4) In a rematch granted by FSPW Owner Damien Christopher, FSPW Florida Champion “the Best Ever” Sonny Maivia defeated VA Hampton. During the match Hampton suffered an injury to his left knee. We shall update all on his condition when we are informed by Mr. Hampton’s physician.

(5) Son of Sicily & Stone Cates defeated “Hardcore Conquistador” Tony & Tito Cartel.

(6) George Rodriguez defeated Ray Beez with a ring shaking choke slam. As soon as the bell rang to end the match, he FSPW locker room ran out to the ring and began Rumble Mania.

(7) Barney Rumble won the 20 Man Rumble Mania Match.

The following were the other participants: Ray Beez, George Rodriguez, Tito Cartel, Son of Sicily, “Hardcore Conquistador” Tony, BoneZ the Cutthroat, El Guapo, Stone Cates, Deathrow Jethro, “Latin Sensation” Ricky Romeo, Azreal Valley, El Jugador, Dagon Lee, “the Best Ever” Sonny Maivia, Jasin Sane, Luis Matos, Mr. James, Chris Corbin, Papi Catracho and Barney Rumble. There was some controversy towards the end as FSPW Officials ushered a brawl between Rodriguez and Maivia to he locker room, the fans along with Jethro and Romeo claimed Rumble was eliminated but snuck back in with no one seeing it. By winning Rumble earned an immediate shot at FSPW Heavyweight champion Jason Sensation.

(8) FSPW Heavyweight champion Jason Sensation defeated Barney Rumble after Romeo and Jethro returned to the ringside area. With the referee’s attention on Romeo, Jethro entered the ring and smashed Rumble in the head with a kendo stick shot. Despite Sensation winning the match, Romeo left the ringside area carrying the FSPW Heavyweight title belt.

FSPW will be announcing its next date at the Hall in the coming days, so log onto www.fpswonline.com for the information.

Match Previews for Un F'N Santioned 2007

Countdown to Christian Cage Continues

It is under twenty-four hours before Christian Cage’s plane is scheduled to land at Pierre Eliot Trudeau Airport or as the locals still call it Dorval. I have been doing publicity for the International Wrestling Syndicate for just over four years and I do not remember any show that has generated this much excitement from the fans. My phone has been ringing off the hook with fans looking for tickets. I have received e-mails from fans from three different continents and six different countries telling me that they were coming. And the fans that can not make it are so excited by the future DVD release of Un F’N Sanctioned 2007 that one contacted by AIM to ask me if the DVD is out yet. (I think he was joking.)

With Un F’N Sanctioned 2007 so close, I thought I would give a detailed breakdown for each match.

Un F'n Sanctioned 2007 Card:

Saturday, March 24th, 2007

Medley, 1170 St-Denis (corner Rene Levesque)

Metro Berri-UQAM

Montreal, Quebec, CANADA

Battle of 2.0: Jagged vs. Shane Matthews

Regles de Quebec: Fred la Merveille vs. Shayne Hawke

Special Outside Referee for the Match: Above Standards (Carl Choquette and Eric Lauze)

EXesS Open Challenge: EXesS vs. Azriel

Four Way Ladder Match:

Hi-5 (Beef Wellington and Kid Kamikaze) vs.

Team Checkmate (Lionel Knight and Chris Bishop) vs.

Up In Smoke (Cheech and Cloudy) vs.

Super Smash Brothers (Player Uno and Stupefied)

Canadian Open:

IWS Canadian Champion Dan Paysan vs.

Justin White vs.

Kenny the Bastard vs.

Rob Vega$ vs.

Pornstar Juan and Twiggy vs.

Vanessa Kraven

IWS Tag Team Title Match: Challengers The Hardcore Ninjaz vs. Champi

ons The Green Phantom and Sexxxy Eddy

IWS Title Match: Challenger Necro Butcher vs. Champion Viking

Special Attraction: NWA World Heavyweight Champion Christian Cage and “Canadian Dynamite” Maxime Boyer vs. Pierre Carl Ouellet and “Paranoid” Jake Matthews

************************************************** *******

Dan Paysan will defend his IWS Canadian Title in a Canadian Open. The match will start with two wrestlers. A new competitor will join the match every minute until every wrestler has joined the match. The winner will be the last wrestler left after all the other wrestlers are eliminated by pin fall or submission.

The Rob Vega$ Scouting Report

I called Rob Vega$ to get some information to pass on to the IWS fans about this JAPW and AWA veteran. He turned the tables on me a little looking for information about his opponents in the match. Here is what I told him:

Dan Paysan: He used to be known as the most talented wrestler in Quebec without a belt. He now has belts in three different promotions. Master of the Gimmick Match, Dan specializes in matches where he has to beat multiple opponents. Quebec’s most talented high-flyer, Dan has a strong technical background as well.

(For those who remember me saying that Dan had FOUR belts, he just recently lost his NCW Inter-Cities belt to Samson in a thirty minute Iron Man Match three falls to two. Not without some controversy. I had the match scored four falls to three in Dan’s favour since Samson hit the referee with a chair halfway through the match which NCW somehow did not call a DQ and the match ended with Samson in the Sharpshooter yelling that he quit and tapping and NCW mysteriously did not count that as a fall either.)

Pornstar Juan and Twiggy: The IWS’ beloved underdogs, Juan and Twiggy frequently fight as a team and enter as a unit even for singles matches. They have combined for surprising upsets in the past.

Kenny the Bastard: A former IWS Canadian champion, Kenny is virtually indestructible. A masked wrestler, Kenny is strange and unpredictable and practices a weird form of martial arts based on his life-long study of the fighting habits of Komodo Dragons and other lizards. Either that or he is a lizard. Only his vet knows for sure.

Justin White: A graduate of Dru Onyx’ Torture Chamber, Justin White was the 2006 NWA Rookie of the Year. Just did well in a technical match with Kid Kamikaze, the IWS’ technical wizard. Probably will fight a more ground based style than the high flyers like Dan and Kenny.

Vanessa Kraven: At six foot two inches and close to two hundred athletic pounds, she is one of the most intimidating physical presences in Quebec wrestling. Male wrestlers who underestimate her because “she is just a girl” have a tendency to pay the price as Franky the Mobster can attest. She wrestles a very traditional big man style. An elimination match is a big advantage for Vanessa Kraven because she is so hard to pin. On the other hand, she could find herself outnumbered as the other wrestlers team together to eliminate the biggest threat. She is still my pick to win the match.

Rob Vega$: Dial Tone. After I gave him that scouting report, the asshole hung up on me.

The Battle of 2.0 may be the match that people are simultaneously looking forward to and dreading. On one hand, Jagged and Shane Matthews know each other intimately after years of tagging with one another and emotions in both men are running high. On the other hand, no one wants to see this tag team break up, even the two men in this match. On the gripping hand, this match might be necessary for the two men to be able to continue tagging together. Shane Matthews is just coming back from six months of injury time. He is the stronger and more charismatic of the two. Jagged has been forced to wrestle as a singles wrestler during Shane’s injury and had some success. He has always been the technical workhorse of the time. Give the edge to Jagged in this contest.

The “Regles du Quebec” match is a specialty of Fred la Merveille, but he has never actually won one. Shayne Hawke is younger and has numbers on his side with Above Standards (Carl Choquette and Eric Lauze) acting as the outside referees. Of course, Above Standards are so incompetent that their presence might actually help Fred. I am picking Fred to win this, because Shayne Hawke is an annoying pest, plus I refuse to pick a “maudit roux” to win.

EXesS and Azriel had a great match in JAPW, back in 2005 that had JAPW fans raving online. Normally, I would say that EXesS ought to have a home town advantage, but the Quebec fans are seriously upset at EXesS for his vicious attack on Stefany at Violent Valentine 2007. Azriel won in 2005 in his home town and fans here are hoping that Azriel can do it again, teaching EXesS a lesson in the process. But Azriel may be surprised at the changes in EXesS since their last encounter. The “Baby Oil Phenom” is still a dangerous submission specialist, but he has added a deep and violent vicious streak to his arsenal. My heart is rooting for Azriel, my head says that EXesS will take it.

The four way ladder tag may be the most competitive match at the show. Hi-5 (Beef Wellington and Kid Kamikaze) are former IWS champions and won that belt in a (barbed wire) ladder match, but their recent reunion is as the result of Beef Wellington’s delusion that he is Kid Kamikaze’s “Best Friend Forever”. The talent and the experience are there, the unity is not. The Super Smash Brothers (Player Uno and Stupefied) are certainly more united. Uno is a former IWS Canadian champion, Stupefied is the 2006 IWS Rookie of the Year, but the two men are relatively new to tag teams and to teaming with one another. So talent and unity, but little experience. Up In Smoke (Cheech and Cloudy) combine all three elements, but the final team Team Checkmate (Lionel Knight and Christopher Bishop) also combine those three elements and a new factor to the equation. Well, factors. First Christopher Bishop is insane, in a good way, his suicidal heroics are exactly what is required in a ladder ma tch, but most importantly Lionel Knight is the angriest man that I now and he has not gotten any calmer since Kid Kamikaze publicly insulted him on Bloodstream. Giving a man that angry a weapon in the form of ladder is a recipe for victory for Team Checkmate.

The Hardcore Ninjaz are the most successful tag team in IWS history. They have won the belts three times as a team with Hardcore Ninja Number One having won it a fourth time with Heavy Maxx Fury. For comparison, no other team has ever won the titles more than once. In addition, the Ninjaz have never been pinned for their titles. They lost to Iceberg and FOD in a Flaming Tables match, they lost to Hi-5 in a barbed wire ladder match, and they lost to Mean and Green (Dru Onyx and the Green Phantom) in a Christmas Tree Death Match when Dru Onyx pinned Beef Wellington. But Dru Onyx is injured and the Green Phantom forced to take a new partner with Sexxxy Eddy, a partner that he despises so much that he pile drove Eddy through a table during the live contract signing for the Medley match. That said, the Green Phantom has never been pinned at the Medley and as he demonstrated with Eddy, the IWS Hardcore Hero is prepared to do whatever he needs to do to keep his tag team belts. So , I have to pick... oh who am I kidding? I am a great big Ninja mark. The Hardcore Ninjaz are getting their belts back.

IWS champion Viking has fought the Necro Butcher before in last year’s Ontario Tournament of Death and lost in a match that most fans called the match of the night. (Necro Butcher ended up losing in the finals to Lufisto, but not before breaking Lufisto’s hand by hitting it repeatedly with his skull.) While he has never fought in the IWS before, Necro Butcher has a history with the Green Phantom whose nose and orbital socket that he broke in a match during CZW’s Tournament of Death. The one guarantee for this match: it will be violent. Viking has the home town advantage and the champion’s advantage. At the Medley, in front of a thousand plus screaming fans, that home town advantage. Necro has the edge in experience and sadism. He also has the backing of IWS owner PCP Crazy F’N Manny, who is so desperate to get the IWS title off Viking that he is prepared to offer Necro Butcher an open contract to come to the IWS for as long as he can win title matches. As Necro Butcher mig ht say: Choose Necro for the IWS Title or CHOOSE DEATH!

Fortunately for Viking, Manny will be so busy with NWA World Heavyweight Champion Christian Cage that he will have no time to get involved in the IWS Title Match.

(Cue Llakor furiously pounding on wood.)

When Manny approached Christian to come to Montreal, his plan was to leech off the glamour of the returning hero and to use him to teach Maxime Boyer and Viking a lesson. Unfortunately for Manny, the NWA World Heavyweight Champion is a little like the proverbial eight hundred pound Gorilla: he does whatever he wants. And what Christian Cage wants is to tag with the best young technician that this country has seen since the glory days of the Hart Family. Manny is throwing against them two of the most dangerous heavyweight psychopaths to team together since the bloody swath that the Garvins’ cut through this Province’s psyche: Pierre-Carl Ouellet and the shovel-waving maniac “Paranoid” Jake Matthews. I have no idea what is going to happen in this match. and I can not wait to find out!

It focuses on the current Quebec provincial election which has been consumed in a rather racist debate about how immigrants adjust to society in Quebec and how all of that relates to wrestling.
