The Hilton Head Packet in South Carolina followed up on yesterday's story about the injuries suffered by former WWE and WCW star Sean O'Haire in a bar fight. The article noted that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of 28 year-old Juan Brantley, who injured O'Haire in the fight, including a fractured orbital bone and impaired vision. As of Friday afternoon, Brantley had not been arrested. The article noted that O'Haire had been charged in four previous fights in recent years, but only convicted once, where he was sentenced to time served (11 hours). There have been conflicting stories over whether Brantley was the aggressor or simply defending himself.

The former pro wrestler involved in a fight outside a Hilton Head Island bar had previously been charged in four fights on the island, but had been convicted only once.

Sean Christopher Haire, 36, who won tag team titles as Sean O'Haire in World Championship Wrestling in 2000 and 2001, told Beaufort County sheriff's deputies he was attacked outside the Hilton Head Brewing Co. March 30.

Haire was found guilty a year earlier of assaulting a woman at the former Club Hypnotic, a dance club, in June 2004, according to Hilton Head Municipal Court staff.

A sheriff's report filed then alleged Haire argued with a woman and pushed her to the ground. Her female friend came to her aid.

Haire punched the second woman before kicking her in the back while she was on the ground, according to the report. He was charged with two counts of assault, but was only convicted of one count.

Before going to trial, Haire was in jail for 11 hours. He was sentenced to time served.

In the March 30 incident, Haire filed a report alleging he was defending a friend jumped by three men at the "Barmuda Triangle" when 28-year-old Juan Brantley punched him in the eye.

The blow fractured Haire's orbital lobe and resulted in other fractures to his face and skull, the report states. Vision in his left eye is impaired and he faces extensive plastic surgery, doctors told deputies.

Haire has obtained a warrant for Brantley's arrest. Brantley had not been arrested as of Friday afternoon, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Witnesses dispute Haire's version and say Brantley was acting in self defense. The deputy who took Haire's report was unable to contact Brantley and only Haire's account was represented in the report.

Haire would not be interviewed because his lawyers instructed him not to discuss the incident. Brantley couldn't be reached for comment.

Dave Robertson, general manager of Hilton Head Brewing Co., and several witnesses who contacted the Packet on Friday say Haire was the aggressor. They say a friend of Haire's went into the bar to start the fight and Haire was waiting outside to participate in it.

In a sheriff's report he filed March 17, Brantley accused Haire of trying to start a fight at another local bar.

Haire had previously been accused of:

• Trying to goad a DJ at Club Paradise into a fight in April 2004.

• Throwing a woman to the floor, fracturing her tailbone, in a bathroom at Shag's in April 2004.

• Threatening to beat a 62-year-old man at an island strip club in October 2003.

In 1992, he also was arrested on assault charges. Details weren't available Friday.
