Most of the ECW Originals that signed contracts last year have their deals coming up soon. Most are in fear for their jobs, particularly since WWE announced at the investor's conference that they were axing the planned December ECW PPV. However, the contracts have options for one or two year extensions and most are likely to be extended for at least the year.

How exactly would that be the best option? The ECW wrestlers are paid a very small fraction of what the Raw and Smackdown wrestlers get paid and, since it tours with and is taped at the same tapings as smackdown, It costs very little money to produce, which means that it is almost impossible to not make money on the brand.
