# Joey Styles was removed from tonight's pay-per-view broadcast, however, he did the play-by-play for a Rob Conway vs. Goldust match on Heat with Jerry "The King" Lawler. When the pay-per-view commenced, Jim Ross was in his chair with no explanation.
# Vince McMahon has been frustrated with Joey Styles' progress in adapting to the WWE's style of broadcasting. WWE believes Styles has yet to assimilate to their broadcasting style. Jim Ross has been coaching Joey Styles over the last few weeks, not to mention that he has been producing him during live Raw broadcasts.
# WWE issued the following text message on their mobile messaging service earlier today: "Jim Ross will be a part of the Backlash announce team tonight on pay-per-view."
# The Backlash pay-per-view announce team consists of Jim Ross, Jerry "The King" Lawler and Jonathan Coachman.
# In a 3:00 minute match on Heat, Goldust defeated Rob Conway with a fast turning powerslam.
