Bus drivers are kicking up a stink after new guidelines suggested they change their shirts daily.
The hygiene instructions include demands to use deodorant and wash regularly.
Drivers have also been asked to have their shoes polished and nails and hands in good condition.
The 18-page booklet has been given to drivers in the First Bus company, which claims to be the country's largest.
One driver in Norwich told The Sun that the instruction was "outrageous and insulting".
But the First company insisted: "This is not about persecuting people or saying they smell."
The First spokesman added: "We want our people to look smart and well turned out and that includes personal hygiene.
"This is not about saying that anyone in particular smells."
