Does anybody invision a future where TNA is a serious threat to WWE?

If so when do you think it will happen in the near future? Far off?

Your Opinions?

Ahhh of course it could happen and they don't even need guys like Jericho or Goldberg to do it, no. In fact, if they advertise right they can be a serious threat I bet but right now it's just baby steps. But I can see TNA getting there once people find out how much WWE is living off old glory and realise TNA is in fact not treating the fans as garbage with championship matches like Cena vs Khali.

It will take a while with the way they are trying to copy the 1998 WCW image. If they had stuck with the pseudo-MMA style or went with a real true kayfabe resurgence then they could have a chance in the near future. But since they chose to go with a style that only partially recognizes kayfabe and ignores the X-Division then it will be a while yet.

Well they did the X-Division thing for the first years and that didn't get them as far as they're going now so they probably thinking that this is what the people wanna see. People are too used by setting WWE as your standard wrestling organisation it kind of sucks. It's like in TNA guys have talent but u don't see them alot anymore while in WWE you think the guys have talent but u never see them at all :lmao:

at the moment TNA is not a thrat but lets just remember that the company is only 5 years old. Many people would think that WWE is superior because of WWE's aquisition of WCW and ECW which companies may fear will happen to them. I see TNA as more of an alternate than a rival. Vince is obiously a little afraid of the competition. He said that "competing with the WWE was a big mistake" yet he banned ppv press confrences because of TNA fans. In about 5 - 7 years TNA will become competition but at the moment its just an alternative. The x division IMO should be feared by WWE because it owns the cruiserweight division.

I don't think so anytime soon. I watched TNA last night (a rare thing for me), and, except for the main event, every single fight or promo had a former WWE star or they mentioned the WWE by name. It was beyond pathetic. Then, what should have been a great match had a crap ending just so that Sting wouldn't shown to be weaker.

I see TNA as a threat in the future. They need more advertisment, and more appeling stars. Maybe if we see guys like RVD, Sabu, and maybe Big Show, we might see some progress.

I will agree that TNA needs to stop with the cheap finishes. I don't think a single match on Impact ended with a clean finish.

What does that have to do with anything? I have given TNA chance after chance, and every time they have the exact same two problems. A WWE fetish and a tendency to crap out on their endings. Just because I'm a Cena fan doesn't mean that isn't true.

I remember the first time I watched TNA. The main event was Samoa Joe vs Rhino. Should have been a good fight, right? No, it ended with Monty Brown coming out and the three of them going through a random table up at the entrance, with the announcers screaming about it. Umm...what about the fight? Who won? Which person got DQ'd? I don't know, they dind't even mention the fights existance, they were just screaming about an obvious table set up. It was just horrible, and they still have that exact same problem.

Hmm well I kind of agree the matches often end controversial or are gimmick matches. Last clean championship fight we had was Sabin vs Daniels with a special referee Jerry Lynn who also got involved a bit in the end I believe. But since then we didn't have many matches going 1on1 with a finish.

O wait - there was Christian Cage vs Joe which was a clean fight! Hmm well whatever I mean to say is that Tommy is kinda right that there is alot of controversial finishes and stuff in TNA, usually building a storyline but also because they don't have as much time to build storylines. Yeah 2 hours is a must

Hey, you are entiled to your oppinion. But IMO tna is far from wwe. i never had to give tna a chance, it has always satisfied me. when i started watching it, the sting (my fav wrestler of all time) and jarrett fued was at it's finest, and i seen a new fresh style of wrestling (x division). i can't remember what the first tna match was, but i remember joe was in it. it was phenomonal! i never seen a guy joe's size do moves like a crusierweight. I dont watch (or i rarely watch) wwe for the eddie gurrero storyline. it discusted me. Then at wm 2007 i decided to give it another chance. IMO i didn't like the product. Then weeks later vince mcmahon became ecw champ. CMON THATS THE STUPIDEST THING OF ALL TIME!!!. i pity ecw. it should have been buried along with wcw. thats why i have stuck with tna.

TNA is nowhere near WWE and anyone who suggests it is is guilty of pure markery. The fact is that TNA is miles behind in the ratings and only hardcore fans watch it. This is not surprising seeing as it is only been around about 5 years. It is unrealistic to think that TNA can pose a serious threat to WWE anytime soon. In my opinion they are not even offering a completely different product at the moment. The only thing different about it is that it is a lot worse

^^ i have to disagree with you there. i know tna is a small company, but look how big it has become over the 5 years. think about what the company will be like in about 10 years.

I would hope so but they need to accentuate their strengths (ala Paul Heyman and ECW). Push things that WWE cant compete with such as the X Division (WWE cruiserweights cant upstage the heavyweights), rebuild their tagteam division (tag teams are used to further single disputes in the modern WWE) and listen to their fanbase more often (fire Russo!). It will take time as WWE has the brand name in wrestling, a more established TV product and financial resources but I would like to think TNA could become more of an alternative to watching Vince push some overmuslced freak down peoples throats
