Andre Chase and Ridge Holland battle in high-stakes No. 1 Contender’s Match
Last week, Andre Chase will put everything on the line as he seeks to earn the first-ever NXT Title Match of his career. Still embroiled in a nasty rivalry with Ridge Holland, Chase wanted another match against his former student, but NXT Champion Trick Williams also looked to get a piece of Holland. Chase laid down the gauntlet, putting his Chase University on the line in a huge No. 1 Contenders Match against Holland. Will Chase earn an NXT Title Match against Williams, or will Holland force Chase to close Chase U forever?
– We are live! Vic Joseph and Booker T greet audiences at home as Nathan Frazer and Axiom make their way down to the ring. Eddy Thorpe follows, and Gallus, OTM, Hank Walker and Tank Ledger, The Family, Tyriek Igwe and Tyson DuPont, and No Quarter Catch Crew all slowly trickle out to ringside to watch the action.
Iron Survivor Qualifying Match: Eddy Thorpe vs. Nathan Frazer
The bell rings and the two lock up. Thorpe cinches in a waist lock on Frazer, but Frazer escapes and runs the ropes. He connects with a kick on Thorpe, then wears his arm down with a submission hold. Thorpe turns Frazer inside out with a knee to his midsection, then fires off kicks on him in the corner. Frazer sends Thorpe crashing into the middle turnbuckle face first, but Thorpe rolls him up. Frazer kicks out and rolls up Thorpe, but Thorpe kicks out. Frazer and Thorpe then level one another.
Back from the break, Frazer hits a standing moonsault on Thorpe and goes for a pin. Thorpe kicks out and Frazer ascends up the ropes, but Thorpe trips him. Frazer fights off Thorpe as all the tag teams at ringside begin brawling with one another. Fraze flies off the ropes to level them, and Thorpe takes advantage. He sends Frazer crashing into the ring apron spine first, but Frazer lands a neckbreaker on Thorpe back in the ring and follows it up with a Phoenix Splash for the win.
Winner: Nathan Frazer
– After the match, all the tag teams continue brawling with one another.
– Jaida Parker then makes her way out to the ring. Stephanie Vaquer follows.
Iron Survivor Qualifying Match: Stephanie Vaquer vs. Jaida Parker
The bell rings and the two lock up. Parker bodyslams Vaquer, then connects with a shoulder tackle on her and whips her into the corner. Vaquer rolls up Parker, but Parker kicks out. Vaquer pins Parker, but Parker kicks out once again and sends Vaquer crashing into another corner, then uses the ropes for extra leverage to wear down Parker's arm and looks to hit a crossbody off the top rope. Parker catches Vaquer and hits a backbreaker on her, then sends her crashing into the mat with her signature Hip Attack.
Back from the break, Parker connects with a pair of double knees on Vaquer's spine and goes for a pin. Vaquer kicks out and Parker wears her down with a submission before Vaquer connects with a kick on Parker's head and lands a meteora on her in the corner. She sends her head repeatedly bouncing off the mat, then goes for a pin but Parker kicks out.
Parker sends Vaquer crashing into the mat with a Falcon Arrow, then sends her crashing into the mat face first. Lola Vice appears at ringside with a brick in hand and captures Parker's attention, opening the door for Vaquer to deliver a superkick and package backbreaker to her for the win.
Winner: Stephanie Vaquer
– Tony D'Angelo and Adriana Rizzo then make their way down to the ring. Brooks Jensen and Shawn Spears follow.
Tony D'Angelo (w/ Adriana Rizzo) vs. Brooks Jensen (w/ Shawn Spears)
“The Don” teases hurting his knee in the match, which played into a post-match angle. Jensen got his heat back by chop blocking D’Angelo in the injured knee. Spears had offered a handshake to D’Angelo, which set up the sneak attack by Jensen. D’Angelo pinned Jensen after a spinebuster.
Winner: Tony D'Angelo
– After the match, Spears extends his hand to D'Angelo. D'Angelo shakes it, but Jensen blindsides him with a chop block on him from behind.
– Brinley Reece and Dion Lennox then make their way out to the ring. Karmen Petrovic and Ashante "Thee" Adonis follow.
Ashante Adonis and Karmen Petrovic vs. Dion Lennox and Brinley Reece
The bell rings and Lennox and Adonis look to begin the action. Petrovic tags herself in and Reece gets inside the ring. Adonis tags himself back in, but Petrovic tags herself back in. Reece rolls up Petrovic, but Petrovic kicks out and Reece clocks her with a right hand. Adonis tags in and Lennox gets inside the ring. Adonis then levels Lennox with a dropkick, but Lennox connects with a back body drop and a dropkick on Adonis.
Adonis rains down right hands on Lennox, but Petrovic and Reece tag in. Reece lands a series of clotheslines on Petrovic, then rolls her up but Petrovic kicks out. Adonis calls for Reece to kiss him on the cheek, but Reece slaps her. Petrovic takes advantage and hits a roundhouse kick on Reece for the win.
Winners: Ashante "Thee" Adonis and Karmen Petrovic
– Wren Sinclair and Charlie Dempsey then makes their way down to the ring. Zaria follows.
Iron Survivor Qualifying Match: Zaria vs. Wren Sinclair
The bell rings and the two lock up. Sinclair looks to roll up Zaria, but Zaria stays on her feet and lands a suplex on Sinclair. She rolls though into a delayed Brainbuster and goes for a pin, but Sinclair kicks out. Sinclair rolls up Zaria, but Zaria kicks out and clotheslines herself and Sinclair out of the ring. She dumps Sinclair back inside and stares down Dempsey, but Sinclair lands a tope suicida on Zaria and gets her back inside the ring.
Sinclair dropkicks Zaria into the corner, but Zaria levels her with a clothesline. Sinclair rolls up Zaria, but Zaria kicks out and charges at Sinclair in the corner. Sinclair rocks her with a back elbow, but Zaria hits a spear on her and follows it up with a F5 for the win.
Winner: Zaria
– Fatal Influence then make their way out to the ring.
– Jacy Jayne says Fatal influence was ahead of the curve and would be sitting on top of the best women's division in all of wrestling. Fallon Henley says her Women's North American Championship is proof, and Jazmyn Nyx says that they shut Kelani Jordan up for good last week. Henley then proposes an Open Challenge for her Women's North American Championship to show that she's a fighting champion.
Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson's music hit and they make their way out looking to answer the open challenge. Nikkita Lyons' music then hits and tells Legend to get to the back of the line, but Adrianna Rizzo clocks Lyons from behind. Several more competitors in the women's division run out and begin brawling with one another. Henley is left standing alone in the ring, but Tatum Paxley clocks her from behind and holds up the Women's North American Championship.
– Trick Williams then makes his way out to the ring to join the announce desk. Ridge Holland and Andre Chase follow.
Number One Contenders Match for the NXT Championship: Andre Chase vs. Ridge Holland
The bell rings and Chase fires off strikes on Holland. Holland responds with a pair of belly-to-belly suplexes on Chase and pins him, but Chase kicks out. Holland exposes the concrete on the outside as we see Chase U keeping a close eye on the action from backstage. Duke Hudson walks off as Chase delivers a superkick to Holland off the apron and flies off it to level Holland.
Back from the break, Chase hits a neckbreaker on Holland and fires off a couple of knees on his jaw. Holland responds with a knee to Chase's head and sends him crashing into the mat, then goes for a pin but Chase kicks out. Holland grabs a chair from the outside and looks to use it, but the referee grabs it from him and disposes of him. Holland low blows Chase as the referee does so, then connects with a Cradle DDT and goes for a pin.
Hudson appears at ringside and pulls the referee out of the ring as Thea Hail stands by. Hudson fires off right hands on Holland and looks to send him crashing through the exposed concrete, but Holland sends him crashing through part of the "NXT" set. Riley Osborne then flies over the top to level Holland (and inadvertently Hail). He fires off a few strikes on him, but Holland gets Osborne above his head and sends him crashing into the exposed concrete on the outside.
A fired up and angered Chase rains down strikes on Holland and levels him with a Russian Leg Sweep. He follows it up with the Chase U Stomps and sends him crashing into the mat, then goes for a pin but Holland kicks out. Chase sends Holland crashing into the mat with a sit-out powerbomb and pins him again, but Holland kicks out. Chase then ascends to the top and looks to connect with a crossbody on Chase, but Holland intercepts him and lands a cradle DDT on him for the win.
