Paul Heyman has spoken for years about the perils of 'Suplex City,' but he now may be taking a one-way ride himself.
It has been just over a month since the blockbuster announcement that WWE is to be acquired by Endeavor for the hefty sum of $9.3 billion. The plan is for WWE and the UFC to be merged into one company, rumored to be named TKO. The deal, which has faced multiple legal challenges, is expected to be finalized later this year.
The merger of WWE and UFC has led to plenty of speculation of a potential crossover between the two brands and there have already been barbs on social media between the two sides. Shortly after the merger was announced, McGregor teased coming to WWE, sharing a photoshopped image of him with both the UFC Heavyweight Championship and the WWE Championship. In response, Heyman, the special counsel to Roman Reigns said the Notorious fighter is "funny to me, like a clown," and added that he likes "the little guy."
Now, McGregor has responded, and in a series of tweets (which have since been deleted), the Irish fighter laid out his plans. McGregor began by saying that there's "only one champ, champ," and added that "I'm gonna suplex Paul Heyman on site."
During his deleted rant, McGregor teased appearing at this year's Summerslam, saying he'd pull into the event "on the yacht." This is hardly the first time McGregor has teased stepping in the ring. In a photo last month with Ariel Helwani, McGregor could be seen holding the WWE Money in the Bank briefcase. He has also questioned why he wasn't used at WrestleMania 38 after the April 2022 event concluded in Dallas.
A former WWE World Heavyweight Champion has also teased facing McGregor if he ever joined WWE.
